Why haven't people figured this out. It is not the politicians that need to learn to control their spending. It is the people who elect them.

Why don't they ever raise their voice on defense spending?
Defense spending is actually 20% of the budget.

Okay, 1/5 then....549 Billion dollars is ridiculous. Add another 144 billion for the so called war on global terror and Thirty some Billion for homeland security. Man this stuff is just ridiculous.

I am an ultra-conservative and not a Republican. Apparently, you are incredibly ignorant of your own history as some of the most conservative politicians to ever haunt the halls of Congress were Democrats. I am not a Democrat either.

There is no political party that aligns with my ideology, but that's my fault, because I haven't started one, but then I don't whine about not being represented at any level of government either.

Seems this author hasn't been paying attention to the kook that brought all of this up back in October 2007 at one of the first GOP debates.

Why don't Republicans listen to their own?
Just what the heck is conservative? I sure don't know. They(conservatives) don't either.

Bin Laden does though.

I think those are prerequisites to join the party.

I hear conservatives speaking against Bush's big government. Savage does it all the time, and so several other conservative radio show hosts (Laura, and the pretty blond lady who hosts Laura's show sometimes). Instead of "conservatives," it should be Republicans, because not all are conservative. A lot of conservatives aren't Republican nor Democrat (Savage, others, and even me).

You are correct about that. John Kennedy was more conservative than a lot of Republicans of today. He believed in low taxes, too.

Well the real answer is very simple.

There are conservatives like Ron Paul.

Then there are NEO-conservatives, like Dick Cheney. Neo-Cons are the war party.

The problem is the conservatives don't seem to notice the NEO part.
