No, I think Obama is DEAD WRONG in even suggesting that he will further cut everyone's taxes and increase spending. It shows again how he places himself and his own ambition ahead of the country's best interests. Scary that someone with young children has no compunction about passing record-breaking debt down to his kids.

I'm all for raising taxes on those greedy CEOs and oil companies that are exploiting workers and consumers by giving themselves millions in bonuses while screwing over workers. I'm all for taxing the bejesus out of ANY corporation that exports their jobs to get cheap labor at the expense of this country. Those are the kinds of people Obama wants to raise taxes on. Obama doesn't want to raise taxes on small businesses and the middle and lower class. He wants to give tax breaks for corporations who create new jobs right here on US soil. Give the perks to the companies who care about this country and Americans and to hell with the companies who don't.

Given the horrendous economic climate, the Reagan/Bush tactic of giving tax cuts to the wealthy to spur investment and capital expenditure is not going to work. With the wealthy taking a bit of a hit as well (rare in these situations) they are more liable to sit on that money or put it in a safe T-bill.

I think its important to reverse the Bush tax cuts because the Iraq War really put a strain on our resources. Unless you're making a quarter million a year or more, you're probably okay on taxes next year under Obama. As it is, McCain's tax cut for the wealthy would be far more detrimental than Obama's plan, which would still increase the debt as well.

Economics 101 people. If you tax corporations, they WILL pass that onto you. You will either lose your job, get lower raises, loses community grants, etc. Whether you like it or not those big companies keep the rest of us working, which in turn allows us to buy things, which in turn keeps the economy going. If Obama is elected we ALL will pay in some way.

Riddle me this, Centaur. If you tax the crap out of businesses/employers, thereby encouraging them to set up shop in other countries with lower tax rates and socialized medicine (so they don't have to pay workers' benefits), how is that going to help the American economy and the middle class?
