This guy is a complete ****. When I moved to CO and started to check on the local pols (he used to rep my House district), I found out that he had "term limited" himself. Wow, a Republican that actually does what he said he would. Of course then he went into the "oil and gas bidness" and made a ton of dough before coming back to try for a "safe" Senate seat.
Then I found out that (IIRC when he was in the State Leg.) he walked into the Capitol rotunda one day, saw a display about "safe sex" and destroyed it, SINGLEHANDEDLY. OK, OK, it may have had some info or depictions of condoms in it, but JHC, who does he think he is?
And of course he's proud of this action because he's a "good family man".
The woman that replaced him in the House is on her way out because she's never done a thing except push the hard right wing agenda.
Schaffer is going away too. IIRC he's down about 6 or 7 to Udall and I see a fair amount of yards in our town with "McCain/Palin" signs and "Udall for Senate" signs alongside them. Pretty bad when your ardent Rs don't want this ferret.
Both of the Senate campaign committees are pouring so much money into CO that there almost is nothing on TV but political ads, big time battleground state this year.
I hope somebody thinking of children and young adults will reflect on what's at stake when we go to war.
Pretty powerful advertisement.
Democrats care about those maimed while Republicans vote against body armor, increased medical benefits from the V.A., increased GI Bill amounts, and so much else.
The GOP caring about the troops is perhaps the biggest fraud of the 21st century, second only to weapons of mass destruction in Iraq
