In Southern New Mexico, this news story hit the papers today, followed by a firestorm of comments from disgusted readers. I was one of the disgusted readers. The anti-Muslim ignorance and hatred expressed by Marcia Stirman is incomprehensible, and thankfully the vast majority of fellow New Mexicans agree (based on the comments I'm reading). It's created a fury of comments from Alamogordo and surrounding cities.

A highlight from the article:

Quote:
The list ends with Stirman saying Obama is ''a Muslim socialist.'' She also wrote, ''I believe war is a fact of life and we should always win.''

Asked for a response to Awad's concerns, she said of Muslims: ''I don't trust them at all. They've sworn across the world that they are our enemies. Why we're trying to elect one is beside me.''
Why I'm a Republican

The immense similarities between McCains plans and Republicans in genral are so similar to that during the french revolution it is scary rewards for those in the upper class leaving the middle and lower to riot over inflation and lack of ability to survive. The Idea of a similar revolution in this country scares the hell out of me and i would really like to see a real CHANGE. These situation arent new, they arent even difficult to notice its that our country chooses to believe we defy history. but the fools that cant learn from the past are suffered to repeat it. LEARN AMERICA!!!!!!!! It wouldnt be so bad if there wernt people voting on trivial things or the republicans tring to remove our votes from the ballot for "sounding similar to criminals names"-Thats the quote from the election over looker in Florida-2004 WE are being manipulated we need to either unite and get rid of this oppresion by VOTING we need to vote and dont get caught in trivial issues like that of religion or gay rights this has no place in government why is it that rebublicans want us out of the economy but in to our lives our day to day issues. Ill tell you because it profits them economically and the trivial allows them to get enough support from those who care only if politicians are homophobic. WAKE UP OPEN YOUR EYES AND SEE THE CORRUPTION FOR WHAT IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for reading

I read in today's paper what a woman wrote explaining why she's a Democrat. Let me tell you why I'm not. I'm a Republican because:
1. I believe in a sovereign God who sometimes gives us what we deserve.
Fine, this is America, believe what you want. I believe in Santa Claus. Just keep church and state separate.

2. I believe Muslims are our enemies.
Including the babies bombed in their cradles with your tax money? Does your sovereign God approve?

3. I believe in life. A baby is not just a fetus, but a living being no matter where it resides.
Apparently not. See above.

4. I believe there is a good reason for the death penalty.
More Death, eh?

5. I believe in fiscal responsibility, for the government and for us.
So why did you vote for Bush?

6. I believe the government is way too big and rife with greed and corruption.
See # 5.

7. I believe in the truth. People believe lies because it's much easier than finding the truth.
Like WMD's and Nigerian uranium?

I believe in personal responsibility. That includes spanking your children.
Extend them my sympathy.

I believe American women should raise their own children and American men should be men enough to pay for children they've produced.
And is this some sort of value recent developed by the Republican Party?

I believe a man and woman make marriage. Period.
Then marry one, and mind your own business.

I believe in America first and foremost and we ought to take care of our own people, our own land, and illegal aliens should go home.
So why did you support the Iraq War? And unless you are Native American, everyone was an immigrant at one time.

I believe in guns and knowing how to use them properly.
Like Cheney?

I believe war is a fact of life and we should always win.
Like Nam, Korea, the Civil War, Iraq, and next ...

I believe in lower taxes. I know how to spend money better than Congress any day
But Bush believes in national debt.

I believe in voter ID.
As long as they are card carrying Republicans.

I believe there is a moderate and a socialist in this election.
Rather than a fascist?

I agree with a two-party system, but Obama isn't a messiah or a democrat.
He's a Muslim socialist.
Well at least you're consistent.

I don't think this woman is representative of most Republicans, but she certainly is representative of a sizable bloc.

Too bad this is right in my backyard. I'm embarrassed.

Based on this quote, she should head to her nearest recruiter's station.

Rather than make a long post.

Google "Moonbat"

Plenty of ammo for the other side.

My, oh my. They are really starting to come out of the woodwork. This is good because exposure to the light of reason sterilizes this sort of political infection.
