Boortz is 20 years late in his advice. Employers have been outsourcing for a long time, in most cases because they don't want to be on the hook for offering expensive health insurance to employees. The costs of healthcare and of healthcare insurance represent a major comparative disadvantage to American workers and businesses versus their competitors in developed nations.

Well, my business is already down to just one employee...myself. I guess I'll have to lay myself off before long.

I've only met one business owner that hired illegals. For the most part, it's not worth it because you have to pay taxes on their pay rather than it being a write-off.

There was a study or poll floating around here that asserted libs cheat on their taxes at a significantly higher rate... Go figure... amoral socialists don't adhere to the rule of law.

I'll consider you a liar until I see that study and who made it.

You've not been to far away from your front door then if you've only seen one business with illegals.

As for paying them being higher, tell Tyson Foods and most other food processors, nearly every roofing contractor/home builder, distribution centers, utility contractors, landscaping contractors,Wal-Mart and a million other businesses that use them about that since you are smarter than their multi million dollar a year lawyers and accountants.....Look in the mirror and wipe that giant L off your forehead.

I get e-mails all the time from India outsource agencies asking us to dole out work to them for $3/hr. Pretty tempting.

Then I'll consider you a small-minded moron for assuming dishonest intent rather than the less malicious possibility that I might-- though I'm not-- be mistaken. Fair?

Actually, I've been a member of a couple business groups.

I don't know how they hide the payroll costs. However, I have known many Republican business owners-- including myself-- who wouldn't touch an illegal... Everyone I've known just opts to raise prices and do less work.

Your roofers, home-builders, etc., I would guess, aren't doing their taxes.

Fair enough.

There are MANY ways around it and unfortunately to close the loopholes would also damage us as business owners too who try to do the right thing. The field I spent most of my life in is lousy with illegals being used for laborers, drivers(yes, drivers if you can believe that) and equipment operators and since I refused to deal with companies who used them, I suffered quite a bit for staying legal and it made it VERY hard to stay competitive as the years went by.This business we currently own would not benefit as much from using them, but our competition DOES use them and again we suffer only this time not nearly as bad.

Very good chance you are right.

Other than that there isn't much the middle class can do.. They will be the ultimate victims here.
There is no room for middle class in that system. There is the rich and the poor. The rich are promised favors through paid contributions and the poor promise obedience to receive contributions. The middle class are too self sufficient and are problematic. They are the first to go in these types of systems.

Sounds like a good reason to oppose socialist legislation that makes so much of your countrymen-- business owners and consumers alike-- support a black market for labor.

In any case, none of this is reason to point a finger at Republicans.
