for the top 5%. They don't even know what people....any one, any family any income level, is paying now! This is a US senator (from NJ) that does not have a freakin clue. If you think there should be a test to vote, how about one to run for office? This is just too scary that we have US senators this clueless !!

I have a cousin who has worked for H R Block for 20 years, and I bet she could not answer that question off the top of her head, either.

You don't elect senators to take wild guesses, you elect them to have their staffes look things up.

If your cousin worked for HR Block for 20 days, I'm willing to bet she could answer those questions. I'm sure she knows the difference between income and cap gains. Let alone knows which is higher, 39 or 28 I'm going to go out on a limb and say a senator should know that 39 is larger than 28.

And as a side point, did you notice that a middle class family now makes $250K a year.

huh? That's why he doesn't know what he's talking about? That doesn't make sense.
This guy votes on this stuff, you would think he would have the slightest clue as to what he's talking about.

The title of the thread is "This is why the dems think taxes need to be raised". I addressed the title of the thread. I did not addres what "this guy" said or thought. That may not be what Dems think.

However, US Senator ThisGuy made a fool of Cavuto. You just don't recognize this, because you went in believeing that Cavuto was right and Memendez was wrong, and no matter how idiotic Cavuto sounded, you remained convinced that Cavuto was right, because he never said anything articulately enough to recognize that was idiotic in addition to inarticulate. Menendez answered every single question with clarity and demeanor, using complete, grammatical sentences, except the ones where Cavuto demanded that he acknowledge "facts" that Cavuto found somewhere, but Menendez was unable to confirm from any of his independent knowledge.
