There was a time when the country did have a racial prejudice problem when a minority could not get a job regardless of qualification. That was a long time ago, and not indicative of attitudes in today's society. That does not mean discrimination does not exist, it will always exist regardless of what we do. What it does mean is that minority's are no longer at a disadvantage due to their race. Our country is integrated to the point now where affirmative action is counter productive. Success should be based on achievement and hard work and not race, regardless of who you are.

See, now it's come down to ... districsts need more money. ( taxpayer money )

This isn't true. Democrats want it to be true.

Kids learn, if their parents instill in their children that learning is important.

Most parents on the taxpayer dime don't care about their children.

You'd think that they would. But, being a responsible parent is such a burden. What about the parent? Sipping down a couple quarts of Colt 45 every day never interferes with parental responsibility, does it?

Barack blames Wall Street.

White people, especially white men are flunking out of college at record rates. If you think whites have scored some kind of victory in there being fewer African Americans and Hispanics being chosen by colleges it is a hollow one because the empty seats are not going to be filled by white kids they are going to sit empty. Tuitions will go up. Enjoy.

Supposedly there is Affirmative Action guaranteeing minorities a level playing field in employment opportunities. Hmmmm. I think it exists more as a get out to explain white failure. AA does very little to get anyone other than white women and to a lesser extent black women jobs. All others are at the mercy of chance. Mostly they are out of luck. Affirmative Action has done zip for me personally, and if ending it would guarantee the end of threads like this then I have no problem with AA going away.

Know this, however, unemployment is going to remain flat for the next decade. There aren't enough African Americans working to make any serious dent in white opportunities. A LOT of white people are going to lose their jobs and it will not have anything to do with the fact that blacks and hispanics exist. It sucks not having anyone to blame, doesn't it.
