I am white and want all Americans to succeed. Some blacks are successsful and some whites are failures, but the overall statistics show that black america as a whole is failing in almost every statistical category.
The rest of America has heard every excuse in the book why.. bad cops, bad drug laws, white people keeping blacks down.
WAKE UP.. the water has been poured. Time to get up. No more excuses. We now have a black president. If Obama with his shady background and muslim sounding name can get elected to the presidency, anything can happen. No more excuses.
So turn down the rap music. Black men, it's time to call your baby mama's and make a play date with your kids. Time to adjust the car seat so you can see out the window. Time to pull up the baggy pants and tighten those belts. It's time to join the rest of America as law abiding hard working citizens.
For black americans who haven't used excuses and went out and succeeded, good for you and this is your chance to pick up the rest of Black America and tell them to wake the heck up.

Uh no. Ever heard of a new boss coming on board because your old boss left? Bottomline, the OP is offensive. Why isn't he asking whites to reach down and pull up their own who are on welfare (more of them then blacks), having abortions 3:1, divorcing at significantly higher rates, filing bankruptcies (just a different type of deadbeat) at significantly higher rates, etc. To generalize and then act like he's throwing a bone by implying if you're in that rare group that's not criminal good for you is unbelievable. Obama's win shows possibility but it also emphasizes the changing demographics of this country. He received 43% of the white vote.

Reading my earlier post, I did not support OBama and I participated in the election process to get as many votes as possible for my guy. That being said. Obama won, fair ands square(yes I know some think differently) and I can accept that and move on.
The racial aspect doesn't concern me at all but the socialist leaning and associations do. That being said, I know many and many a black American who are hard working, god fearing, child rearing, socially conservative as I am who did vote for Obama because he was black, and thats ok. Each of you, us, has the RIGHT to vote as we see fit and for who we so choose, wither your like it or not.
I will jsut be glad when we can get past this black thing, white thing for the total betterment of our "OUR" shared country, don't you?
Black America, as you so called it, does suffer from prejudices still. As evidenced from the original post, a number of stereotypes were given (rap music, illegit children, baggy pants, etc...). All of these have negative connotations. Now, nobody can argue that racism has decreased. However, to say that there is no racism/prejudice against Blacks is incorrect. White Americans are more likely to be hired by either a hiring minority or another White person when the employer is faced with two equally able candidates. When asked in West Virginia during the primaries why Democrats voted for Hillary, one of the top reasons was race. More than one time, I was told I was "not like other Black people". Some attributed this to the fact I'm half White. Teachers actually are more likely to punish Black students more frequently than White students. Black males are more likely to be punished, followed by Hispanic males, White males, Black females, Hispanic females, and White females. Asian males and females are the least likely to be punished. (This is assuming that a minor disturbance occurred within the classroom. The disturbance being defined as light talking over the teacher. Same disruption, different consequences). The lighter skinned you are in "Black" America, the better one is treated. So you see, there is still A LOT of work to be done.
I also do think that we must not cry racism when racism does not exist. Obviously, the original post was racist. However, there are times that I have seen a person call another racist, but the person was not. For example my sister in law made a Black joke (she is White). Somebody was offended. What they did not know was that she often tells White jokes. What also they did not know was that she really did not care about race, actually she kind of wishes that her skin was darker (just cause she thinks it looks cool. She thinks that really some really dark people can pull it off, and some really pale people can pull it off. She looks at skin color the way that some people look at clothing). There are a lot more options out there now. We need to grab them. We made it this far, we got to continue on.
The biggest problem facing America now is classism. Poor vs. rich. The rich have rode on the backs of the poor, but when tax cuts are reversed...people cry socialism. During the Bush era, the middle class held the greater tax burden by population. Esp. the upper middle class. Those making between 80k-120k were seeing rough times. However, the poor faced decreased school spending, decreased social services, and increased amounts of stigma. To even protect the poor and aid the poor in today's America is seen as socialism and communism. Poverty in Black America is from lack of acquired wealth. Take for example, my parents are upper middle class. I will inherent my parent's house, have some of their life insurance policy, and some stock. My dad's parents, though going bankrupt, paid for his college tuition. They too were upper middle class. My great grandparents gave my grand parents inheritance help buy a home. Again, upper middle class. Okay, many great grand parents were not upper middle class in Black America. Many were slaves. So wealth was not acquired...instead poverty was acquired. For the most part, you will not go too far beyond or below your parent's class. You may end up a little richer or a little poorer, but most people do not go really far out of their parent's socio-economic group. Thus, why poverty breeds poverty and wealth breeds wealth. However, there are tons of poor White people. So we need to address the growing wealth divide regardless of race in this respect.
Look at a map. Do you see two countries named America? No. There is one and only one.
I am not saying I agree with it! I only acknowledge that there is ONE AMERICA! It is the black community that is self segregating themselves! White people did not create all of those separate "black" organizations!
The point of the thread was that (Blacks and whites) both are tired of successful blacks being labled traitors or uncle toms. So that the unproductive could hide behind the excuses of racism to not be productive!
The Jews have more persecuted and enslaved more than any race alive and they have stopped making excuses and became very wealthy and very productive members of society... the point is that now black Americans can see their own potential and know now that the only real limits they have is the ones that they place on themselves!
Wow, I am amazed by how racist some people are. I am so happy America finally put race aside and voted for a black man. This is a great day, and I truly believe that this younger generation will be the ones to move this country forward. We will all stand together regardless of race. Get with the program people, racism is so outdated and so wack. Next, a latino, korean, indian, anyone can be president in the U.S. this is so awesome. I see just as many white men sagging there pants as well, the have there belts pratically around there kneecaps as well.

This is a great post. So true, but they will find another excuse and some poster before me already came up with their excuse and call you a racist.....they need an education about racism....Great post!
