When they began labeling the entire Yes on 8 Campaign as one of HATE, that really turned me and many other people off.

I dont know.

But I'll tell something we arent doing. We arent sending envelopes with suspicious white powder to people that disagree with us.

Yep, still baptizing Jews that died in the Holocaust. Yikes.
"'We don't think any faith group has the right to ask another to change its doctrines," Wickman said. 'If our work for the dead is properly understood ... it should not be a source of friction to anyone. It's merely a freewill offering.'"

That is one of the strangest things I've ever heard of, and I'm Catholic! Very unfortunate, especially because of the pain it puts Jewish families through:
"'They tell me, that my parents' Jewishness has not been altered but ... 100 years from now, how will they be able to guarantee that my mother and father of blessed memory who lived as Jews and were slaughtered by Hitler for no other reason than they were Jews, will someday not be identified as Mormon victims of the Holocaust?' Michel said Monday."

Admittedly, this is very difficult for non Mormons to understand and rightfully so.

Churches disagree on many different things and that's okay.

But on the issue of Same Sex Marriage which is what the current contraversy is actually about, there is near unanimous agreement and because this cause was so important, Mormons and Catholics and Baptists as well as many other religious groups joined together.

I wonder sometimes, what's the use of some people claiming to be religious if they don't think its worth following.

I mean, if its true, then its all true. Right?

You know what? I am skeptical about this.

Another church tried to pin suspicious envelopes on someone, and were found wrong.

Some of these large churches who have a lot of money and influence draw fire from more than just one sector of society. There are large groups of young people online who are activists against all sorts of things that LDS and CoS, etc. do.

Even if it is true and gays sent the envelopes, that doesn't mean all gays are that way anymore than it means all blacks supports riots because of what happened in South Central LA after the King verdict.

I suppport the Mormon Church in this effort, even though the Mormon beliefs are contradictory of my own.

To be honest, the first thought that came to my mind was that it wasnt gays but some neo-con whacko trying to stir things up.

Of course. Gays are just fighting for what they believe in(as we should) and Mormons are fighting for what they believe in(er, as we should-tough being a gay Mormon these days lemme tell ya), and every group has a few crazies in its midst.
