These people that say "Gay Marriage" should be allowed state they are the most "opened minded" people ever.

These "pro gay marriage people" might as well be in a time that would "allow whiskey and ban vodka". They are so for one thing that has moral issues but something else that deals with another moral issue is completely wrong.

If that is allowed, then why can't we have strip clubs in neighborhoods? These opened-minded people aren't for that.

What happens when I disagree and don't believe in gay marriage. They aren't as open-minded as they think because they are always very open-minded.

That is why I dislike those who call themselves "open-minded". Because they aren't even close to being that way.

Just watch- I'm sure I will get attacked by the open-minded people here in a rather mean tone despite the fact I'm being logical and stating my opinion.
Who cares if you're open-minded or not? What does any of that have to do with the law?

Frankly, I could care less about whether or not you get attacked; this is not about you or me, this is about hundreds of thousands of people that are getting the shaft because they do not conform to being "straight". I don't see what being "straight" or "gay" has to do with the legality of a marriage and I don't see how gay marriage threatens straight marriage. The only thing I do see is that some gay people might actually come out of the closet and marry the person of their choice (and love) vs. marrying the opposite sex and living a life of lies.

From what I've seen, most people finally admit to their sexuality and the truth comes out anyways. Why torture people and make them live a life of lies? Seems to me that a lot of hurt and pain could be avoided by letting people be who they are from the onset instead of dragging it along for years and decades until the truth finally comes out anyways.

Please forgive me for not slogging through all the anti-gay hateful nonsense on the previous pages and perhaps repeating what some other sane person may have posted.

I've been with my partner for 28 years.

We have a very successful small business. We have built a fabulous home (that was featured on HGTV! Yay for us!). We donate to charity. We are active in our community. We are supporting my mom and dad. We help out with our relatives. We pay taxes.

There are over 1,000 privileges that are automatically given to heterosexuals when they marry. Why the hell shouldn't I get those same privileges? What makes you better than me? I've been with my man for 28 years. How long have you been with whoever you "married"?

Please dont give me any of this God nonsense. Your religion is irrelevant. You don't have to be religious to get married.

It's a civil issue. A basic civil right. If you want to go to a church and have some imaginary diety "bless" your union until you get tired of it and move on to the next union ... then ... whatever ... I don't care. I am not asking for acceptance or aknowledgement or blessing from you people.

I am demanding the same g*dd*m benefits you get when you marry some skank in Las Vegas and divorce her a week later.

Please tell me why YOUR heterosexual relationship should get benefits that I don't.

And if you are serious about being against Gay marriage then why don't you support a constitutional ammendment against DIVORCE. I mean, if marriage is so sacred and all ....
