That is a double Negative Sir.. therefore mute!

If I were to follow your argument, I could Say that Jefferson said "never vote a negro into office for it would doom the union." And it would have to be accepted as his word.

( I want to note that no racism was meant in the example.. just using language of the time. I hope to not offend anyone. )

I could just as well say that there is no force such as gravity. There is no dispute that we have developed this highly dependable theory to explain very predictable and measurable results. There is no proof that this force we call "gravity" exists, yet we allow ourselves to believe it does because we have not found a better explanation for our observations.

Yes there is. People did not commonly speak of "democracy" in a positive way in Jefferson's time (even if they belonged to the "Democratic" Party")

Sweetie, if gravity didn't exist, monkey sh** would not fall out of trees.

Otherwise, this post has me remembering Ayn Rand and Atlas Shrugged. One particular line has never left me: "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need." What happens when those with ability have nothing left to take?

Marx wrote that. Ayn Rand wrote it cuz she was writing simplified arguments fighting against Marxism. Ayn Rand vs Marxism is an outdated battle. Both of their ideas have been surpassed.

Ayn Rand- the polite pretext of Ann Coulter <shudders>

Bluebeard I find it awfully strange that republicans still can't see the history of their own party.
