If I were in that position I would gladly accept heating oil from Chavez - especially when my own government refused to help me... I'd keep my family safe and warm - and deal with the name calling from any morons.

Obama's not shutting down oil or natural gas, he's reimplementing old standards that Bush undid himself through executive order himself.

Enough with the reactionary bull****.
gawd that is aweful. See people this is why we must stop Bush and his cronies from raping our land. One example of many many reason for this unneeded bull.

bouncing, there is a company in Oklahoma that has developed a grass for salt infested land.. it is helping to reclaim land faster.. and is the only known grass-seed to grow in environments such as you mentioned.

please pass this info on to your uncle

The dude is a fruitcake, I tell ya! If Democrats back the ban on drilling for Natural gas, you are all screwed. I invest and follow the natural gas markets intimately and if he signs this ban into affect, your bill doubles in 2-3 years, I promise you that! As if it has not already went up enought.

What a joke!

Obama to use executive orders for immediate impact - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081109/ap_on_go_pr_wh/obama - broken link)
B. Hussein Obama will make himself Supreme Emperor in under a year if he makes the necessary moves.

Anyone who believed the media hype about Bush "expanding presidential power" will now look the other way as Hussein crowns himself Supreme Emperor of the United Socialist States of America.

Does this post even warrant a response, other then, oh my god?" I think not, but I'll do so anyhow. Everyone knows presidents are entitled to executive orders. That is not the question. The question is what they use them for. My point? I think this is a dumb use of his first orders when we are in the mists of an economic crisis and ENERGY crisis to be whacking off potential energy sources.

Bottom line, your heating bill is $250 a month now, get used to $500 in 18-24 months. And that is if you're in a prime market. Live in a rural area and you get screwed twice. But hey, as person said, anything to **** off a conservative is all that matters. Be careful what you wish for........oh I almost forgot, he is gonna give you $500. Nevermind!

Through a program called "citizens energy", Citgo provided 100 gallons of heating oil to low income households, homeless shelters, and Native Americans in 17 States.

Actually, I think that will be a little complex and difficult to do...

You see, the emperor was a vestige of the Roman Empire...

Barack would first have to get everyone to speak Italian, and wear togas...

He would slowly but gradually morph 'Survivor' into 'Gladiator Survivor' and resurrect the gladiator games - why of course, in the Colloseum in Los Angeles.

Then after a few years, he would slowly introduce Turkish Bath-houses and dancing maidens at White House dinners... to get the public used to emperor type stuff.

Only after that would he dare to declare a direct blood line to Julius Caesar and petition to have himself declared Emperor...

IOW, it's way too early to panic, unless you want to of course.

It's a rare, rare day that I agree with Delusianne, but today I do. The first word that jumped out at me in the article was "perhaps".

There is no reason for anyone to panic. Obama was elected less than a week ago and while I'm not crazy about the guy, I do know he's an extemely intelligent man and no one is going to put words in his mouth including Podesta.

So let's not get all nutty and go crazy over this. Something like 90% of the things we worry about never happen. Obama knows he's not going to have wind and solar up and running January 21st. He has to do something to wean us off foreign oil. How many choices does he have?

I doubt strongly he's going to recall the millions of cars on the road in February and have them rewired for solar power.

Let him. Let people suffer in freezing winters for the next 4 years and have no fuel to take a family trip now and then. It's only going to help Palin of Alaska big time when that time comes. Drill baby drill!

The problem is, in many cases you are talking to kids who have no idea what kind of bills their parents pay for heat and so on. Or they're living in college dorm rooms, never had a job, never paid a single bill. They don't understand if $500 is too much money, it's not when they want to buy a iPhone or Wii station.
