Obama said he wants jobs and growth and he wants to build from the middle class out. What exactly is the plan where the countries economy grows and jobs are created? For anyone hoping for a pay raise, how is Obama going to force companies to give them to you?

Barack is proposing $1.6 Trillion in tax increases. Now we know he is not serious.

By opposing republican plan to give unconditional tax cuts even if they hire in China instead. By opposing republican plan to make foreign profits tax free. And by taking steps to see to it that the economy continues to add jobs in the private sector as it has for last 33 months. In fact, more private sector jobs have been added since Feb 2010 than were added over ten years before then.

Perhaps it is time to avoid overly simplified "thought" process that seem to hold conservatives back and out of touch with the realities.

"Obama's Jobs Plan" I feel like there should be a punch line following those words.

In all seriousness, I'm sure there is a plan, and I'm sure it will create some jobs. However, I'm also sure this plan includes spending much more money to create the temporary jobs than revenue these jobs could generate in the short time these jobs will be funded.

People who purchased "Obama Jobs Plan", also purchased "Federal Recession Stimulus". : )

Your response is oversimplified. Yes, jobs have been added. Unfortunately, we lost higher paying private sector jobs and we gained mostly lower paying private sector jobs. Just adding jobs, any jobs, won't help the economy if those jobs do not replace the tax revenue from those previously lost or if the jobs created don't pay enough to allow people not to continue to need government assistance and support.

What does the administration plan to stimulate the creation of higher paying jobs?

I don't think either side has any real answers to our shrinking middle class. I don't see how you can even approach it without some sort of trade protectionism. Of course, in the short run, that would cause prices to go up, but in the long run it's for the good of the country. However, neither party has any intentions of tightening on free trade.

The Republican answer to everything is a tax cut. If the people getting the tax cut invest in companies that ship jobs overseas, that doesn't create jobs. What happens when tax rates on the rich are 0% and the go-to move for the CEO class is still to ship the jobs elsewhere? Give them negative tax rates? Tax cuts don't create jobs, but that's the only policy other than deregulation that the GOP knows.

The Democrats always talk about research and investment, but again, it's all vague and where are the results?

Actually that's a moot question since he lost the election. Let's concentrate on figuring out how the winner will proceed. That's all that counts.

He would "expand the base"!!!!!!!! lmao!

In reality, over the last 12 years, this country has all but ruined any hopes of building an economic climate conducive for substantially expanding the job market.

Neither career politician could fix this.
