Yes, but the task is made much more difficult when Republicans (if they can be deemed worthy of that once honorable enough term) incessantly post things that are in fact stupid and devoid of all reason.
What in your view is the appropriate form of criticism of things that are in fact stupid and devoid of all reason? Do we shy away from calling them what they in fact are? We have here people who believe that if you elect to trade in your old car as part of the deal in acquiring a new one, it means that the dealer has "confiscated" your old car. What are we to do with these people?
