Threads like this is why I am losing faith in Americans. We are becoming the nation of anti-intellectual idiots.

It's pretty funny that you seem to think Barack Obama was some kind of insane addict whereas George W has never touched drugs in his life.

Question number 59 asks specifically about one's personal property:

“(59) Do you or any members of your immediate family own a gun? If so, provide complete ownership and registration information. Has the registration ever lapsed? Please also describe how and by whom it is used and whether it has been the cause of any personal injuries or property damage.”

I did not vote for Mr. Obama , but it seems to me that his staff is making a good faith attempt to avoid embarassing surprises.

The questions are not excessive compared those asked in other fields.
Two examples:
Special Background Investigation for access to some higher classified info.

Maine Game Warden: Those who made it to the last 3% or so of the applicants will know what I mean.

Some of the gun questions are quite naive. More ridiculous than dangerous.
Registration? Most ( OK--almost all) states don't waste money and resources on firearms registration. All but a very few states prefer more effective public safety and crime prevention measures.
The NFA of 1934 requires registration of only a very few firearms like machine guns and short barreled shotguns and rifles.

Imagine righteous young staffers from Boston , Chicago , and San Francisco interviewing people from the rest of America.
The gun questions should produce some comical teachable moments.

Comedy channel material.

Isn't that funny...but some people on this forum will claim that he didn't wrote it him self....that is what they are going to tell us for the next 4 yrs....4 more yrs of excuses, I guess!!!

But meanwhile Obama is more worried how his new car will look and how much more money he can spend on that car...to look special when he get's in and out of that car...wow...a real leader...

Too bad for you that online petitions are worth the paper they're written on.
