A friend told me that there would be a protest demonstration at Main Plaza at the steps of the OLD Courthouse on Sat afternoon, 12:30.
Anyone knows about this?

Reason: Moved from the San Antonio forum, since the discussion centered on the controversy, rather than the event.
That is what I said. They could at lest protest Texas law.
Hopefully this one is peaceful and nobody know an old lady's cross out of her hand then stomp on it.
This is the battle cry.

Please come and participate in a peaceful protest. Bring your signs, banners and voices. This is about our lives, who we love and who we support. Stop the Hate Repeal Prop 8
that old hag asked for it. who in their right mind would carry an oversized cross to that protest? besides, i didn't see anybody physically attack the ol hag. a whole state just took away their rights. they are justifiably angry. they are not fascists. Reason: Don't drag national politics into this discussion. That should be confined to the Politics and Other Controversies forum.
It does seem kind of silly to stage a protest to reverse a proposition (the stated purpose on that web site) that Texans didn't even vote on, and that they are not in a position to change--even if they wanted to. As for the woman with a cross goes, she should not have been proselytizing her religion at an individual liberties CIVIL rights protest (Oops... remember the separation of church and state? But then I wouldn't imagine that most of the counter protesters had learned about that, because that's covered in high school )

I thought the very same way. But then, I remembered that many of the big donators came from outside of calif. in texas, there were many big donations incl: rachel weidman of dallas ($50k), dr arlo terry of san antonio ($10k), alan stock of plano, cinemark theaters ($10K). the very least that we can do is show them our support and make up a little for the mormon bigots in this state.
