You cannot accept the fact that I come from a religion that does not accept gay marriages.

When are people going to get their heads around the fact that Marriage is a man made institution and not something that is God given. No difference for homosexuals to marry than Heterosexuals. If God was against Homosexuality he wouldn't have created Homosexuals. It is not a choice but a biological leaning that is determined at birth. It is no more a sin to be Homosexual as it is to be Heterosexual. The only sin is the intolerance and ignorance shown to Homosexuals.

A quick count of your most recent posts, Aaron, reveals that you posted no less than 13 times on gay-related issues, on several different threads...

for someone as totally straight as you are, this concern with our welfare is truly touching. Keep up the good work...

A very dear freind of mine is a lesbian. Talking with her has eased up my views on homosexual relationships quite a bit. She and I have an....interesting.. relationship. We grew up together, rode horses together a lot and we are still pretty close. She has been fighting cancer for about 3 years now and I try to help her as much as I can. We had a relationship that was a bit more for a while in high school and we have just stayed freinds forever it seems.

Are you referring to Catholicism? Don't pin it on that, then, because I have friends who are Catholic and support gay marriage. I have friends who are Catholic and gay, even.

Not sure what category you would put the Catholic priests who molest young boys?

Then they are not following Church doctrine correctly. The Catholic Church never has, nor ever will support gay marriage.

Also, marriage is a sacrament from God, so while the government has to do with it, I am for taking the government out of marriage.

And for the priest comment, it is over-done and not worth responding to.

While I'm not an expert on things, I don't really think it's a good idea for people to decide when others aren't doing it right...the whole religion thing. I think that's up to individuals.

The Church itself doesn't now, but at one time I think it was determined not to accept Galileo's discoveries, either, and that has changed. I really think it will support same-sex marriage in time.

Then we have to eliminate government recognition of opposite-sex marriages, also. I really don't see it happening, but I could be wrong.

Just because I don't support homosexuals right to marry, does not mean I hate homosexuals. On another forum, a Catholic forum, I defended the right for loving, stable homosexual couples to adopt children.

Catholic Answers Forums - View Single Post - Adoption by homosexual pairs of adults

I am sorry, but marriage to me is a sacrament, a holy order that is to be respected. I do not approve of divorce either. And to see marriage defiled by allowing homosexuals to marry, when this is a sin in the eyes of God, goes against my Church beliefs.

And no, the Catholic Church has been unchanging on most issues since it was established 2000 years ago. On issues of science, they have issued decrees that blend science and creationism together. We do not pretend to know everything about science or how God created the Earth. Many Catholics in fact believe (and the Pope supports this) that the Earth could have been created through the process of evolutionary means. However, we do accept Adam and Eve as the first human beings with a God-like soul. Before this, human beings were animals just like lions and pigs.

Is this the same Adam and eve that had sex before marriage?
