Just because someone is famous, does not mean they have anything to offer. It's about marketing, and it works best on stupid people, like the typical Palin supporter. It's called "strike while the iron is hot" because Americans are impulsive and forgetful, and Palin will be mostly forgotten in just a few months. It happened with Kerry, Dole and Dukakis, and they were all presidential candidates. Gore only remained in the public eye because he wouldn't shut up (not a bad thing) about global warming.
