There is no end of story, this issue will be debated for a long time to come.
You're right, this issue is far from over... but I'm confident that equality will win in the end, as it has with other civil rights issues in the past.
Oh, well that's a good reason to dislike 10% of the population.
I live in San Francisco, and have grown up around the gay community... they are both good and bad, just like heterosexuals.
I thought they've recently discovered that homosexuals do not comprise 10% of the population, but 2%-3%.
Gizmo, before I started interacting with gays, I was very much a live and let live person, you never would have seen me carrying signs around like that. I even felt some sympathy towards the gay community, but from my own personal experiences all of that has changed.
Maybe later on I can explain more about my experiment.
For a long time, I was looking for one, just one decent gay person to treat me with respect without bashing my religious beliefs. I simply could not find it.
I tried everything under the sun, and nothing worked.
My point is that the good gays are far less vocal than the bad gays. Perhaps if more good gays would reach out in friendship then peoples views would change.
Bashing people, cussing people, calling them fundy idiots does not win over people to their cause, atheists excepting of course.
Now lets change some words on how some of those gays you have met might actually feel...
'For a long time, I was looking for one, just one decent Christian person to treat me with respect without bashing my sexuality. I simply could not find it.

I'd say it's more like 12-14 percent if you could add in all the people who hide from who they are for whatever fear that causes them to live a lie. There is no way it's 2-3 percent.
Cyrusjul, your whole post is spot on. I tried everything under the sun to treat these people compassionately, yet they could not get over their hatred for born again types.
Folks, if born agains have brought you so much grief, then perhaps when you do meet someone that doesn't fit the mold, perhaps you should thank them, instead of trying to berate them.

Oh believe me I will. But unfortunately I haven't met one yet. Now I have met a lot of other Christians (Not a born Christian) that are accepting and understanding. Even some Catholics. Yes I have many Christians as friends.
If a born again Christian wants to be a friend without the preaching stuff then bring it on.
Same thing for me too, I haven't met one yet either.
