Maybe I didn't explain the question well enough. Here's a more detailed version:
Assume that scientists have developed a pill that would turn a heterosexual into a homosexual overnight. If you take the pill, the results will be permanent; you will not be able to go back to being a heterosexual.
The scientists want to study the long-term results, but they realize that most heteros won't take the pill for free. They've decided to offer cash to any heterosexuals willing to take the pill.
How much money would they need to give you to convince you to take the pill?
If it makes it easier to answer the question, pretend that you are a single person with no spouse or children.
Wow, you wouldn't take it up the butt for $500,000,000? That's such BS. I think that anyone who claims that no amount of money would turn them gay are just too scared to admit that they would. My life would be a hell of a lot better if I had $500,000,000 in the bank and I got pounded every night by Bubba the porn star than if I lived paycheck to paycheck working a crappy job. People claim they'd turn down the indecent proposal, but you know in reality they would just jump for the cash.

lol.... I like your response, but are you also considering the social ramifications of being a homosexual? Maybe you're the type who doesn't care what people think of him - I wish I could be more like that - but for most, I think it's the social ramifications that scare them more than the physical act of gay sex.

Well...there's a lot more to it than sex. But if you can take everything else that comes with it, and withstand all the jeers and shrug them off...that's pretty great!
The election coming to a close has really destroyed some people, they have no idea what to do with their time but see how crazy a thread they can come up with.
One doesn't become gay, or become non-gay, they are what they are. Money has nothing to do with it, and no amount of money can change that.
A few years in prison might temporarly change your tastes, due to availabilty, but even that isn't permanent.

Yeah, I liked leftdan's response too, but you're right that there's a lot more to it than sex. I have a feeling that even people who would jump at the chance of having $500 million might not realize the full implications of being homosexual.

You mean not having to deal with the mood swings of a menstrual woman or the whole bathroom seat thing? Honestly, I'd much rather hang with my buddies than my GF if it wasn't for the fact that I am uncontrollably attracted to women and need to get some on a regular basis. The social stigma vanishes if you have $500,000,000...everyone would want to be your friend if you're that rich. Or is it that you'd bash yourself if you were gay, that you couldn't live with yourself being that way?
