But if the car companies that are asking for a bail out are doing so well then why do they need to be bailed out?
If the government is giving money to these companies to stay afloat then why wouldn't they reserve the right to lay down terms on how the money should be spent? I can't think of any major metropolis in this country that doesn't need better public transit (or at least some maintenance on it).
Also, why is it that people who criticize the left always call their ideas "socialist" like that's the worst word in the english language? The New Deal had lots of socialist aspects and it saved this country. Social Security is a socialist practice and nobody wants to see that go away.
Finally, isn't bailing out a company being socialist? I mean, if we're really a capitalist country then we're supposed to let companies that can no longer survive just die. That's the way that it's always been. We'll never advance if we start bailing out companies just because we feel sorry for people who lose their jobs. Nobody felt sorry for the buggie makers, milk men, ice men, tv repairmen, whip makers, saddle makers, radio repairmen, coca cola bottlers, salesmen at bullocks, etc. that lost THEIR jobs. I say let these companies die so that the smaller companies with alternative modes of transportation can finally be allowed to grow. The unskilled laborers of the current companies can always find more unskilled labor.
The New Deal was brilliant in its time, but the perpetuation of some of its components lead to a ridiculously abused welfare system today. It should have stopped when we were out of the woods.

Well the point of the OP is to show michael moore is an idiot and the realist that people who want bailouts with government money are not interested in the jobs they are interested in socialism of corporations nothing more. They want to run and or regulate the company. Let the company die but the issue is these so called free market democrats and republicans are nothing more then big government elitist who believe in central economic planning.
Well, I'm a liberal but I am against the bail outs. I'm sorry for some of the families that would be hurt if/when these companies went under but if we keep bailing everyone out it will just be the same problems in 6 months or a year. Look what AIG did. The heads of all these places seem to think they are intitled to abundent affluence.

Such as?
I hear this argument all the time but no one seems to pinpoint exactly what these abused welfare programs might be particularly following the welfare reforms initiated in 1996. So, if you got'em post em.
I find it interesting that peopel get so irritated by Michael Moore. He seems to show light on some topics that arent the favorites to look at. His is but a soapbox to scream of the problems in the system and try to remedy them through awareness and information. He has spoken of the problems we have with violence and guns, I doubt even the NRA would say there are too many deaths from guns. He spoke about 9/11 and us being lied to about going to war and Bush being inept. He has spoken of our health care not being up to par. He has spoken for many that lost jobs at the car makers. So just what is it that he has said that makes him such a socialist, liar, or idiot as some profess?
He is someone that has had enough and spoke up for all those that are too affraid or lazy to do so.
Exactly, what is it you have done to make social change? and criticizing those that act won't count as a merit. So for all you criticas of Moore.... what have you done to help us out? what wrong have you rightedd, what lie have you exposed? When you can say you have done something come back and criticize. otherwise, shut up and do something useful.
So just what is it that he has said that makes him such a socialist, liar, or idiot as some profess?
I've read your posts, so I know you're a lost cause, but I'll say this.
He clearly wants the US to head down a socialist path. Anyone who's familiar with his positions on things is either willfully ignorant or themselves a liar.
His lies are well documented. Finding them is easy, if you're genuinely interested. I'll make it even easier for you to find one of the better examples - google "fifty-nine deceits".
You'll never find me calling him an an idiot. The man is many things, but he's no idiot. He's a master editor, and a great storyteller. If he were interested in making real documentaries, I'm sure they'd be remarkable.
