They just brought warships to port in Venezuela. If I were Russia I'd do that too - be buddy buddy, then take over "for their own good." Every one of those countries, all that land would be so easy to take....

Good old Col Igor Panarin is still kicking around and making his mischief. I had completely forgotten about this old manipulator, a product of the "good old days" of the USSR:

Colonel Igor Panarin of FAPSI, speaking at a conference in 1997, stated that there is a need in Russia to develop information-psychological subunits in government and military directorates. The role of these departments would be to develop strategic and operational measures to prevent or neutralize attempts to control the psyche of Russian society (what he termed the “strategy of psychological defense”). A Main Directorate in Support of Psychological Security would ensure the psychological component of Russian national security.

Methods of persuasion are an IW weapon specifically oriented against the psychological security of individuals. The primary Russian information weapon in this regard is a concept known as reflexive control (RC), also called “intellectual IW.” RC is defined as a means of conveying to a partner or an opponent specially prepared information to incline him to voluntarily make the predetermined decision desired by the initiator of the action. There are scientific and mathematical components as well as varied military and technical uses of RC. As previously noted, the goals of RC are to distract; overload; paralyze; exhaust; deceive; divide; pacify; deter; provoke; suggest; or pressure an opponent with information.

Foreign Military Studies Office Publications - THE RUSSIAN VIEW OF INFORMATION WAR

Still up to his old misdirection and deception tricks I see, guess he is working for a Russian think tank now.

Russian population will drop to 100 mil by 2050, while the US will grow to 400 mil. THey have reason to be afraid of us since we will outnumber them 4 to 1. only a few countries will have comparable or larger size (china, india, EU)

Hum, information war to convince us that we are in decline and will break apart into 6 separate country's. Wasn't there a movement just 4 years ago to take the left coast and merge with Canada?????? My gawd a wet dream come true.

And isnt this very thing happening right now with the push to convince us we should let the grat south west go because it was never ours any way.

What I really liked was his comment that ALASKA was only a lease agreement. Gawd, now we will see a movement begin to give away Alaska cause we stole it from the Ruskies..............sigh........

China and Russia, for example, are in far more danger of collapsing than the U.S.

Chinese are rioting because of their catastrophic economic mess. Russia is a part fascist/part mafia-thug political freak show. Both countries have already collapsed at least once in the last 100 years.

Default Broken America

The Russians are still very VERY bitter over the break up of their own country, thanks to 75 years of communist terror and fruitless socialist economic practices. So one has to take what they say re: America with a real big grain of salt.

America breaking up? I kinda doubt it. America declining? Yes. Definitely.

America simply can not sustain any longer the massive effort of supporting her leadership position on the world stage, as the only true beacon for freedom and democracy, while at the same time supporting the massive drain of the endlessly mushrooming socialist welfare state at home. For generations we've lead ourselves to believe that we could do anything and that no problem was unsolvable. Now we are seeing (finally) that we can not have it all. The American economy is still strong and is still resilient, but it will OBVIOUSLY not sustain the current load endlessly, it's going to break if we try.
The U.S. military will always be strong. Even after generations of lousy parenting, lousy public schools, wretched revolving door judicial systems and the seemingly assured victory of the mutant sub-"culture" there are still enough high quality highly motivated people with enough wherewithal to manage and operate effectively the U.S. military machine. (truly amazing actually)

The U.S. economy and the status of the U.S. as a leader in global politics is another mater. Here we will definitely take a back seat to other nations, most notably the Communist Chinese. To their credit (no pun) the PRC Chinese have maneuvered themselves into a position of global economic leadership and have enough military power to bolster any economic moves they may make in their interest, and best of all they are not in any way hampered by the disease of political correctness that so permanently infects the U.S. and Western Europe. The only other regional powers that may off set PRC China are those of India, and to a lesser extent Russia.
The Communist Chinese are rapidly building a very modern Navy, a branch of their armed forces that in generations past took the back seat to the Red Chinese Army. Though this new Chinese Navy may never push America from the worlds oceans, the regional interests in the Western Pacific are definitely shifting toward PRC China. This does not bode well for Taiwan, or the Philippines or even Vietnam. U.S. lines of supply and communication are stretched very thin out there and the increasing pressure from the Indians and the Chinese to have the U.S. leave the Western Pacific will probably be in large extent successful. This fact, now coupled with the soap-opera "reality T.V." of domestic American politics absorbing 140% of every Americans short attention span, means the Chinese will pretty much have it all their way in that part of the world.
Of course, added to this the fact that the U.S. trade deficit with PRC China will continue to grow, fewer and fewer durable goods will be made in the U.S. with the resultant loss of industrial base, loss of U.S. skilled and DEDICATED worker base, and you get a situation where America is definitely in fourth place. Communist China, India, Russia...and then the U.S.
China India and Russia, being more dictatorial and corrupt mafia style governments again, have little stomach for the UN and the world knows it, so none of them are going to listen to the international community much. All of these three will do more or less what ever they want on the global stage and certainly in the realm of their own domestic politics, American socio-political influence on all foreign nations is definitely going to fade. The Chinese have positioned themselves to take a controlling interest in resources the world over, from Asia, South America and Africa, this means that the Communist Chinese will be successful in spreading their influence and power and will be held in higher regard globally. American business desperate to continue operating, and making profits for shareholders, are fleeing America for PRC China so fast that it is truly startling. American workers are NOT nearly as good as their Communist Chinese counterparts. American workers receive high pay, and produce average to low grade products. Chinese workers are very efficient low payed, loyal and much more easily controlled workers, and Americans buy Chinese products with wanton abandon. So again, the Chinese win.
Global shipping (as is most all shipping) is shifting toward the Chinese. This is not anything new. The Communist Chinese have been rapidly advancing in the shipping markets with huge new fleets of tankers, container ships, heavy lift ships etc etc. The American fleet is virtually zero. The Chinese are in a good position to grab the majority of the market share of the worlds shipping, couple this with the fact that upwards of 95% of the worlds goods travel in whole or in part, by ships.
So, we have now the following. A U.S. "american" company has it's corporate office in some American town, call it "yuppieville" but all the manufacturing has been moved to PRC China. The ship that brings the Chinese made product to the U.S. is a PRC Chinese built ship and a Communist Chinese owned ship. The bank and insurance companies that cover the liability for the ship are Chinese, the Ships crew is Chinese, while at the same time, millions of people loose jobs in the U.S. but continue to buy Chinese "goods". Also, millions of people flush into the U.S. every year for a better life. I can only assume that by this they mean "welfare" because that will be about the only thing left that the U.S. will produce. Who will fund this bankrupt U.S. welfare system?

Well, the Communist Chinese....of course.

So, in hindsight, perhaps it IS a good thing that we, the "americans" take fourth place. Perhaps it's time to pull out of Korea, Europe, the Middle East and go home. Go home, buy Chinese, let them pay for the welfare systems and health care systems we can no longer fund and see how they do....
