I think the point is that when they were named male/female it was because they fit together as male/female.

The "right way" is an extremely subjective notion. And not all of the practices you mentioned there are comparable--it's one thing to have a shoe fetish and quite another to enjoying raping and killing people. The latter is harmful. Homosexuality in humans and other animals is not inherently harmful.

Every action one takes in relation to sexuality, from having heterosexual sex to screwing a watermelon, depends on one's state of mind. So, a rapist finds "sexual" pleasure in raping, a person with a foot-fetish finds sexual pleasure in such act, etc.
A lot of things in relation to sex are quite often harmful, regardless of the type of sex one engages on. Sometimes it can be physical, while other times psychologically harmful. Quite often there isn't much rational thought taking place during sexual arousal.
