They were protesting about the abolishment of fox hunting with dogs not gun control.
People can own a shotgun or a hunting rifle in the UK.
Most people in the uk don't understand the american obsession with guns.

``British Citizens Rally because of GUN BAN``??...Total B/S!!
The rally was organised by the Countryside Alliance, of which incidently I`m a member of. I`ve seen some things twisted on here and misrepresented to suit an agenda but this takes the biscuit. I supported the rally because I support hunting with dogs, as do all that attended the rally. They did NOT hold the rally to support a willy nilly gun ownership policy. How many times does it need to be said?? Gun ownership in the UK is NOT banned. I shoot myself as 99% of those on the rally do.
If anyone in the UK wants to hold a rally in support of the type of gun ownership seen in the US then feel free. But don`t hijack and steal someone else`s that had nothing to do with the subject..

Spot on linc, I myself have not met any brits desperate to own a gun.
I think americans "some" believe that abuse = not having the right to own an AK47 for home protection.
Did you read about that kid in Arizona who killed his father & a family friend. He used a bolt action .22 rifle. this boy was 8 years old!
He has been charged with two counts of premeditated murder.
Only in America eh.

Oh, don't give me this "only in America" bull****. What about Dr. Harold Shipman? A citizen of the UK, between 1975 and 1998 he murdered at least 236 (not a typo) of his patients, making him the worst serial killer in history.

Why do we Americans feel that we have a right to own firearms? Because, as is well documented among the positions of many of our founding fathers, an armed populace exists as the great check on government. The ultimate balance in our system.

Not with a gun he didn`t ...The main difference seems to be we don`t legally put them in the hands of fruitcakes.

As a PS on Shipman..No doubt a very evil piece of flesh. But anyone can pluck any figure out of the air they like for the sake of sensationalism. Depending where you read ,the figure varies wildly..It has to be remembered he was charged and convicted for 15....
