Of course, it could just be that the wealthier people actually keep the emissions systems on their cars intact...

Oh you must have missed the memo..the government is supposed to take care of all of us. We're entitled ya know. And we shouldn't have to pay for it either.

Don't fight for lower drug prices or doctor fees..fight for more "help" from the government instead.

I while waiting in the lobby of an emergency room (for a family member), another person sitting next to me (who apparently had little or no income) was waiting to be treated. He told me that he comes their sometimes and complains that he's hungry and the emergency room doctor's get him a meal. They don't do it for free, they take his access information and it gets billed to the state as an emergency room visit.

I don't know how often that happens but, the money that gets wasted like that could buy a lot more food for the poor than one hospital meal in an emergency room.

And for all you Jeffersonian Patriots out there...
Our revenues liberated by the discharge of the public debt, and its surplus applied to canals, roads, schools, &c., the farmer will see his government supported, his children educated, and the face of his country made a paradise by the contributions of the rich alone, without his being called on to spend a cent from his earnings.
-- Thomas Jefferson on taxing the rich [Letter to Kosciusko, 1811]
You left out the beginning of that quote in an attempt to discredit Jeffersonians. He was speaking of taxation regarding EXCISE taxes, not taxes upon ones income. Excise taxation is completely Constitutional and based upon use of products. The rich or poor can choose whether or not to spend money on luxury items...you cannot choose whether or not to work (unless you wish for someone else to pay your way in life).

Why don't you just count your blessings that you aren't so poor as to be eligible for a voucher? People need to spend more time feeling thankful, rather than wishing.

I will not "get used to" theft of my property, be it from my government or a common criminal.

I'm happy to give to those in need...and I do. I resent the government-sanctioned theft of the product of my labor.

I'm baffled at how one fails to see the difference between CHOOSING to help those in need and being forced to give to bureaucrats.
