Good , let Honda and Toyota buy up all the plants and re-open them to build thier better quality vehicles. Then they can throw all the unions and union workers out the door and start fresh.

Nah, once the union is out of the picture Toyota and Honda will be free to screw the workers. Then the workers will get fed up and organize a union again.

There are companies in the world that consider their workers to be assets and don't attempt to screw them over. If the Big 3 had acted that way in the '50s and '60s they might not be in the dire position they find themselves in now.
In right to work states the power is in the hands equally to both parties no need for unionization except to strong arm a company into doing what greed wants. Otherwise freedom is a better choice when it comes to productivity. Anyone that's been in a union would understand the need to be able to implement process improvements instantly that's required in today's businesses that are castrated in union environments through the imitation of the federal government that unions tend to imitate.

Very true and in today's times I think fears of lawsuits and laws themselves would help to keep companies in check. Obviously you would still have some corruption and strong arm type tactics but if people searched a bit they would be surprised how well workers are protected through things like OSHA and the DOL.
