Find some information on "marijuana addiction" that does not come from the self-proclaimed "marijuana addiction" treatment industry. The first job of these people is to convince you that there is a problem. Then you can pay them to solve it for you. Bunch of frauds, crooks, and liars, basically...

That's the first job of the American Medical Association? I don't think so.
I simply pointed out that the AMA doesn't seem to agree with your professional opinion.

Post the statement of the AMA then. You've got a link to a crooks-and-liars site noting that an article published in JAMA indicated among other things that fewer than half of kids who had smoked marijuana by the age of 16 ever went on to any use of any drug other than pot. Talk about your addictive properties!!! No, wait...that doesn't have anything to do with addictive properties...in fact, it's pretty much lame even as a testamonial to the supposed gateway properties of pot. But take it how you will...

Why are you being so defensive?
You should have just read the entire article, before you attacked the link. The American Medical Association - presumably with no real reason for bias against pot - does not believe it's harmless.
It appears that you're being overly sensitive about this.
Marijuana also lowers your defenses against cancer (as well as other immune-mediated responses)...
Marijuana effects on immunity: suppression of human natural killer cell activity by delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol; SPECTER S. C. (1) ; KLEIN T. W. ; NEWTON C. ; MONDRAGON M. ; WIDEN R. ; FRIEDMAN H. ; International journal of immunopharmacology ISSN 0192-0561
Cannabis use was associated with a decrease in levels of IL-2, a TH1-type cytokine related to cell-mediated immunity, and an increase in levels of IL-10, a TH2-type cytokine related to humoral immunity. The decrease of proinflammatory (IL-2) cytokines and the augment of anti-inflammatory (IL-10 and TGF1) cytokines was associated with a marked reduction in lymphocyte functionality, and a decrease in the number of NK cells. The suppression of immediate and innate responses of the immune system together with the disruption of TH1/TH2 balance might increase the susceptibility and promote the progression of infectious diseases and tumors.
(Interestingly, they think this may mean they could see about using it for autoimmune diseases.)

It may also be a cofactor with HPV for oral cancer. More studies pending.
Go look on the internet...a lot of people have a lot to say about the health effects of this stuff.
Article date: 2000/01/18 A study by researchers from the University of California at Los Angeles, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, and Arizona Cancer Center has linked smoking marijuana with an increased risk of head and neck cancers.
Why is it too much to ask people to not engage in unhealthy activities (smoking, drinking, drugs, fatty foods) without everyone not getting all up in arms? It's a real burden on society, and it's getting old.
Why are you so eager to change the topic which is marijuana addiction.

Neither you nor your link linked to the full study. But it's out there. It suggests that the differences noted may arise from the effects of the peer and social context within which cannabis is used and obtained, not from the addictive properties of marijuana.

No one has claimed that marijuana is harmless, nor is anyone likely to. It appears that brocolli is about the only harmless thing out there. However, that has nothing to do with a discussion of the alleged addictive properties of marijuana.

It appears that you're being overly evasive. Is there any substantive claim that you can point to for the addictive properties of marijuana that does not come from the self-proclaimed marijuana addiction treatment industry? Yes or no...

With all the known dangers, and potential dangers, associated with smoking pot, why bother?
Exactly! I know tons of people that made the same smart choice of never experimenting with drugs.
