Not all conservatives believe the social work programs should be dismantled. I support social services programs that work and that have oversight to ensure the programs are ran efficiently.

True

But the professors should not have punished the guy just because approached the problem from a different angle, if that's what happened (and we're only seeing one side of the story; OTOH the school is offering to settle, so hmmm ). Maybe he was belligerent or abrasive or whatever, but if his ideas were valid and workable he shouldnt have been punished for expressing them, if he was. The professors need to be able to see all sides and be flexible, follow all avenues.

Did you actually read the article? His thesis was on how to force people to get jobs before offering them any help. Maybe he should try for a job in lobbying rather than a job taking care of people he obviously harbors some contempt for. Due to his beliefs, it doesn't make sense for him to become a social worker the same way that, due to my beliefs, it doesn't make sense for me to become a preacher.
