Should it be legal to rape women if it becomes "culturally accepted"?

It WAS illegal in Texas until recently.

Pricks, yes, pricks, excellent word. Exactly the kind of people who render such embarrassing decisions for us.

Speeding is illegal. Jay-walking is illegal. Why, I've even heard that lying on your income tax is illegal.

There are laws by the thousands which are ignored every day. Here are a few of the more egregiously absurd (incidentally, I find number 3 especially surprising. Isn't Gavin Newsom over six feet tall?):

If I were the US, I would also refuse to sign. I do not believe any country, nor any group of countries, have a right to try to compel every country in the world to unify their defninition of criminal behavior. How would the US like it if the UN resolution was passed that called for worldwide decriminalization of marijuana or abortions or prohibiting capital punishment, or limiting the size of families, or how big a car can be? As usual, the US would either veto it or ignore it., of course, but the US would also be offended, and I wouln't blame them.

I could go for that line of thinking if I was sure that the U.S. never signs proclamations such as this. My guess, however, is that they have. Maybe someone can clarify this for us.

Excellent question! I would also like to know if the US has ever set a precedence in signing UN proclamations. Although, couldn't it be argued that the Geneva Convention could be one? And wasn't there a referendum condemning genocide?
Anyways, I look forward to learning more about this by more knowledgeable people.

how surprising... the christian freaks up in this country are no different than any muslim country...
I'm so sick of these religions... and their influence in societies... creating foundations of thought, reasoning, and justification based on myths is just out of control, yet here we sit in america with most of the world's wealth, but no more enlightened, educated, capable than the 3rd world on most issues.
