You might want to discuss this with the folks in Somalia. By definition, I believe most experts in such matters agree that today, for all practical purposes, Somalia has in effect, "no government at all". [...]
What I'm promoting is a gradual transition toward a society built on the Non-Aggression Principle. No thug should be able to steal from you, even if he calls it "taxes", "tariffs", "regulations", etc, etc, etc. Given all those news stories about armed pirates asking for "passage fees", Somalia is about as aggression-prone as you can get!
Your definition of "government" is wrong: you seem to think that the government needs to be a bunch of smiling bureaucrats in cheap suits. In reality, what defines a government is aggression. Any mafia boss or warlord is government, and if he could grow big enough he too would find it profitable to build roads and schools. If there's no aggression then it's not called "government", but a "business", "charity", "club", "family", "neighborhood association", etc. So Somalia does have government, lots of it, it's just always fighting with itself.
But let's not hijack this thread, the main point I was making is about mobility between governments being a good thing. The more competition the better.

Personal opinion here; I don't think they are betraying their country by becoming a citizen of another nation. I do think they betray their country if they provide aid and comfort to their country's enemies or sell classified government information to our nation's enemies.
Millinions of people become US citizen every year. So what if a natural-born US citizen abandon their US citizenship and become citizen of the other country?
depending on the country they will still be seen as a old yank regardless, but the ironic thing about people who seek to have citizenship in america do not see themselves as americans and many of them hate americans.

Nobody has a right to say anybody is betraying anybody. That's a serious accusation, and you had better know what you are talking about when you say that. People have a first responsibility to do what is best for their own family. Country comes way down the list. If a person believes resettling in another country is best for his family, then that is the best thing to do.
Every one of us on this board is descended from people who "betrayed their country".
Do you think you betrayed your state by leaving it? Did you betray your city by leaving it? Why is that any different?

This reminds me of...
Executioner: William Wallace, you stand in taint of High Treason.
William: Against whom?
Executioner: Against your king. Have you anything to say?
William: Never in my whole life did I swear allegiance to him.
Executioner: It matters not. He is your king. Confess, and you may receive a quick death. Deny, and you must be purified by pain. Do you confess? Do you confess? (Wallace ignores the executioner.) Then on the morrow you shall receive your purification.
Difference is she was a citizen of this country while she was entertaining North Vietnamese troops and getting on the radio to call for the surrender of American soldiers serving in Vietnam. Then when American POWs returned to the states from Vietnam and reported the torture they endured she called them liars.

Citizen shmitizen. It's a fictitious concept, like "mandate of heaven", "divine right of kings", or that monster in your closet - it's only real if you believe it.
Sure, the gang of thugs with nukes and aircraft carriers that thinks it owns your ar$e is real, but the moral justification they use isn't, and they wouldn't be able to hold that much power if more people would see through their lies.
(I'm no fan of Jane Fonda or North Vietnam, obviously, but it was a defensive war on their part, commie or not.)
