And for what purpose is a perfect question to ask...I would think that there would be those who would respond to be arbitrary, I probably would, and I would hope others would as well, no-one's business what one's preference is regardless. What I think might be a more productive census-taking endeavor might be:
a. who in the last year has lost their job;
b. who in the last year has lost their lifesavings;
c. who in the last year has lot their health care insurance;
d. who in the last year has to decide between food, medication, heat or childcare services;
e. who in the last year has lost their home?
There was a time that I would love to watch a Tom Cruise movie; The Firm, the super movie with Dustin Hofman (da**) can't remember the name...etc. and given that I have always been one of those movie watchers that has believed that most of the actor(s) who play a certain type of role really are those characters, like Tom Hanks, great actor, person and down to earth kinda person, same as Paul Newman, had character, believed in social causes, did something about it that would make sense.....
Why on earth would it matter to Tom Cruise who is or is not gay...what is that about....I thought he had more substance than that...and if such a census was taken, what on earth would he do about it...
Responding to news that Britain is counting the number of homosexual citizens it has in a new survey beginning in January, everyone's favorite troublemaker, actor Tom Cruise, has called on the U.S. government to do the same.
Why does the media think anyone cares what Tom Cruise has to say about anything?
PLEEEASE do not tell me there are people out there who take his word as the voice of logic to follow?

there is nothing in the census that says you have to answer anything at all except for how many live where you are at. I do not put anything down except for that, and anyone of you do that answer each and every question are foolish.

You're thinking of "Rainman". I think this was taking out of context. I'm thinking what Tom means is that if there were an actual count taken, society would find that there are indeed many more homosexuals than previously thought, thereby the argument that "gays are a small percentage of our population, so why should they get the rights of the majority?" would be null & void.
