Are you folks still going to claim government is the answer?
Depends on the question. For instance if the question is "how can we bring electric power to rural areas" or "how can we guarantee that people don't have their rights trampled by local elites" then yeah, government, FEDERAL government, is the answer.

So w/o going way off topic... If you are looking for Fed gov. to help local atrocities how do you feel about the Patriot Act? Can one rapist discipline another?
Greatest double standard of all is starting a thread that only addresses conservative double standards when liberal double standards are the standard for double standards.

I don't hold with the Patriot Act. I think the Federal Government acted properly to solve some problems but has also acted improperly in other instances. And that the government acts improperly in some instances is hardly a strong argument that the government then shouldn't act at all.
And actually yes, one rapist can disipline another. It happens in business every day.
I guess the right is as hypocritical as the left is forgetful...

Yeah government which is supposed to be "We the People" is the answer.
If you mean a government that is autocratic, like Bush and his cronies worked toward, or a theocracy ,which the religious right would like to get going, or
