"(The book is) basically about how victimhood is rewarded and everyone wants to be a victim," Coulter told CBS News. "It's about the rewards and praise you get for being a victim and the way liberals use victimhood and they oppress others."
Now that is irony, in it's finest form. What a mockery of her own self she makes.
the disgusting insults and hatred heaped on Tony Snow when he died of cancer, or the many "progressives" who yearn openly for the death of President Bush.
Any names? I mean besides the blogger in Oatmeal Nebraska. Anybody who's as adored by the left as Coulter is by the right?
Keith Olbermann, Chris Mathews, and Rachel Madow off the air, the left would not be so hated by the right. But no. The left prefers to legitimitize hatred and vulgarity
When was the last time any of them said they'd like a plane to fly into an American building, with people still inside?
Hatred and partisanship work both ways. Posters in this thread boast of breaking Ms. Coulter's jaw and whip themselves into a frenzy of hatred at a person who would dare to dispute their politicized view of the world. These people act as if it is the sole responsibility of conservatives to control their lunatic fringe. That fails to address, among other things, the disgusting insults and hatred heaped on Tony Snow when he died of cancer, or the many "progressives" who yearn openly for the death of President Bush.
To paraphrase -- if you took Keith Olbermann, Chris Mathews, and Rachel Madow off the air, the left would not be so hated by the right. But no. The left prefers to legitimitize hatred and vulgarity. It elects Al Franken to the Senate...
There's a huge difference between the hate speech of the radical conservatives and the liberal "hate" speech of the radical liiberals. Keith Olbermann has his "worst persons in the world" which is not dedicated to espousing hatred towards anyone other than those who should be hated. Bigots, liars, cheats and hypocrites are who he bashes. I cannot stand Maddow, as she is the Andrea Kremer of News (being someone without any real thoughts of her own and who has an annoying voice and is nothing to look at either) and Chris Mathews is not all that bad. The people in Minnesota also elected Michele Bachmann, a moron with radical beliefs that make senator McCarthy seem liberal. They also elected Jesse Ventura to be governor, so can we really use the strangest state (poilitically, especially because they don't even have a Democratic party there) in the union as a representative?
Say what you will, Hannity and Coulter preach hate for specific people and incite division, the Liberals seek to incite change for a more cohesive society. Coulter and Hannity (Limbaugh and O'reilly too) are not Conservatives, they are radical right-wingers (or just liars if they don't believe what they say) who have nothing to do with traditional conservative values.
I know you idolize those four (based on your opinions), but they really are awful people. I find the only good reporters are the ones who don't wear their opinions on their sleeves, like Brokaw or the late, great, Tim Russert. Coulter, however, is just a piece of trash who never should have been on the air in the first place. We shouldn't be celebrating her opinions, we should be publicly rejecting them. This is a good start, but it's just getting her more press...there's a long way to go before she's gone.

My Thumbs-Up (TM) highlighting marker ran out of black...great post!

None of whom, miraculously enough, happen to be on the left end of the political spectrum.

There are plenty of strange states. Take mine (Washington). Jim McDermott, Congressman-for-life....

Count on it. The left hasn't silenced everyone yet, but they;re working on it.

Nonsense. Olbermann has made a career out of personally attacking the President and inciting division of the ugliest kind. His ilk cheered when our soldiers died in Iraq; it made political points for them, and tha is all they care about. Period.

The only person I ever idolized was my father, and he is dead.

Publicly rejecting opinions is a far cry from silencing those who oppose you. I reject Olberman. I find Stephen Colbert an obnoxious little twit, and a coward to boot. I think the ladies on the View are full of malignancy born of ennui. I publicly reject them. But unlike you, I don't favor banning them and muzzling their right to speak nonsense.
Perhaps that's the real difference between Left and Right. The former glories in the power to control the public sphere and sentence those who displease it to Gulags, real and symbolic, as you would Ms. Coulter. The latter knows a buzzard by its naked countenance, but realizes that even scavengers perform the necessary task of reminding the rest of us how glad we are not to share their habits.

Quick side note about TWPitW (from the publisher's blurb at Amazon):
From tongue-in-cheek observations to truly horrific accounts, Olbermann skewers both the mighty and the meek, the well-known and the anonymous for their misdeeds, including:
Ann Coulter, for, among other things, calling Muslims "rag*heads" in a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington
Barbara Bush, for making a generous donation to the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund earmarked exclusively for the purchase of computer software . . . software sold by her son, Neil
The staff of Your World with Neil Cavuto, for the story about the murders of Iraqi civilians that was accompanied by the on-screen graphic: "All-out Civil War in Iraq: Could It Be a Good Thing?"
Coulter has no right to air-time that she doesn't personally pay for. Programmers who book talent for their telecasts for a while believed that she had some. Perhaps they have now changed their minds. It's what they do, and they have the right to do it. NRO had the right to fire her. USA Today had the right to fire her. Newspapers across the nation that carried it had the right to drop her column. Coulter has no complaint here, and neither does anyone else.

Now you've gotta admit, those are pretty worst!
Well, gee. How about Bill Maher comparing Barbara Bush Hitler's to dog?
Keith was among the missing in those instances. Jeez. Wonder why? Could it be selective outrage? Or selective blindness? Or maybe stadard left-wing hypocrisy?

I report. You deicde. Fair and balanced.
Some sick, sick, sick people.
Unbelievable.
And these are the same people that whine and cry when Obama's citizenship is questioned.
