They have evolved, in my mind, into a terrorist state, but they do have a right to exist in some form. My only question would be...who's going to enforce these new borders that the poll proposes?
Actually, I think the Palestinians should cede their territory to Israel and once the occupied territories are officially part of Israel then everyone get one vote. Just like South Africa.

One nation solution.
I think there would be a great deal of resistance within Israel to the idea of allowing the Palestinians to vote.
The Israelis have prevented, or put off, the Palestinians from voting in the past, because they didn't like the candidates.
Oh I realize Israel would object but since they so desire the occupied territories and already occupy much of the land in them. They can't take the land and kick out all the Palestinians, that is ethnic cleansing. Two state solution won't work for the reason Arafat turned down Israels last offer, because it was like freckles on a kids nose. Tiny scattered outposts of Palestinian lands only connected by Jewish only roads and Jewish only settlements, there would be no way to get between them.
So, one state solution with one man, one vote. Israel is a democracy or so they claim. I figure since the Arabs outnumber the Israeli's by a wide margin, it would only be a few years and there would be no problem with Israel.
Israel is looking towards a two state solution, the Palestinians turned down an agreement that gave them over 95% of the West Bank, and all of Gaza. For the sake of factual accuracy, here is the information from the US negotiator at that time:
Here is the transcript from Dennis Ross, Clinton's negotiator for the Middle East:
DENNIS ROSS: WHAT REALLY HAPPENED AT CAMP DAVID AND BEYOND
A summary by Dennis Ross of what was offered and what took place at the Camp David and Taba negotiations:
1. Yasser Arafat presented no ideas at Camp David.
2. The Taba talks would have happened in late September if not for the outbreak of violence. Arafat knew the US was ready to make a proposal and thus promised to control the violence, but didn't. (I think he was hoping that he could leverage the violence into political gain.)
3. All of Gaza and a net of 97% of the West Bank were offered at Taba.
4. The West Bank area offered was contiguous, not "cantons".
5. The Jordan valley would be under Israeli patrol for only 6 years.
6. The Palestinians were offered a capital in eastern Jerusalem.
Actually after reading the wiki on the whole of the Camp David affair, it seems that things broke down over East Jerusalem. The Palestinians wanted complete sovereignty and not just custodial guardianship. Reason being that if they ceded the west wall, it would also have meant including the Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of Islam's most holy sites.
Seems they say that 73% was originally offered, then later 90-91%.
In any case, I don't believe a two state solution will ever be reached. Now there are so many settlements in the occupied territories it is unfeasible.
