WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. syphilis rates rose for a seventh year in 2007, driven by gay and bisexual men, while chlamydia reached record numbers and gonorrhea remained at alarming levels -- especially among blacks, health officials said on Tuesday.
Blacks make up 12 percent of the U.S. population, but account for about 70 percent of gonorrhea cases and almost half of chlamydia and syphilis cases, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.

Poor neighborhoods, being ostracized, poor school systems in low economic areas, etc. It just isn't about STDs, its about crime, its about highschool dropout rates, its about domestic violence. WITH ALMOST ANY MINORITY YOU CAN PULL OUT A STATISTIC THAT IS UNDESIRABLE AND WAY ABOVE AVERAGE. So what does the prove? Does it prove everyone that isn't white, straight, and christian is a lazy, promiscuous, moron or does it say something about society? You people are making this WAAAAAAAAY too simple Moderator cut: Personal Attack.

Care to provide proof? And even if there are more poor whites what does that prove? If I had 4 black beads and a 100 white beads and two black beads are broken while 8 white beads are broken whats that say? It says that there were more white beads to begin with so obviously you can use their numbers to mess with the numbers for anything else. My point is, blacks are a minority, it would only go to follow that the NUMBERS for almost anything would by lower, you hav to go with PERCENTAGES.

Is there a need to mention this? You seriously have problems if you cannot understand that just because STD rates are higher in gay DOES NOT MEAN THEY ALL HAVE IT.

There are many issues related to it. For one, the media in its unending position of alleging egalitarianism would never report something like this. They'd rather focus their hate on people who think marriage is between a male and female.
Another controversy that this story entails has to do with "racial profiling".
When it comes to giving out welfare or government money, racial profiling is allowed: Blacks are hurt most by STDs, statistics tell us so, therefore we should direct funds to that group to deal with it. However, use racial profiling in another case: Blacks commit most violent crime, statistics tell us so, therefore we should direct our police resources towards that group. In the latter case, it's disallowed and called "racist". But it's the same methodology.
