American Idol is only the tip of the iceberg. Check out the entertainment thread and read (with horror) as people get into serious, nasty arguments about their favorite television shows; nothing is more important to them! It isn't a surprise that our society is the way it is--and you don't have to go so far as to blame politicians. You can blame TV.

The first show was entertaining, but the Vietnamese guy with the afro, doing the Michael Jackson song should have made it. The show just has to realize that the 'good' singers are boring, the most entertaining get cut the first round.
