It seems odd hearing Republicans refer to Abraham Lincoln as their president even though they don't really honor President Lincoln. When the GOP went after the Southerner "racist" vote during Nixon they knew these former-Democrats hated Lincoln but that they hated blacks & gays even more. Frankly, I want to vomit when somebody like Bush speaks of Lincoln as a great Republican even though the 2 presidents have absolutely nothing in common.
Would Abraham Lincoln be proud of the Republican party of today? NO!

100 years ago, the red states were blue, the blue states red. Lincoln would immediately disassociate himself from the Republican Party, which bears no resemblance to the goals put forth by Lincoln.
It's 2009 and how many blacks feel represented by the Republican party in this country?

Agree - NO.
I've even heard Rush Limbaugh say, "We're the party of Lincoln!" They all know better, the big liars.

He'd be a Democrat. Today's Republican Party continues to sow the seeds of racism.

The problem is that the so-called Republicans today (many if not most) are not really Republicans. They are all acting more like Democrats. That's why we call them RINO's (Republicans in name only).
If Republicans will start acting like Republicans once again, they might actually start winning elections again. I have to admit, I'm disgusted with my Party; but I'll be damned if I'll vote for any Democrat!
Oh, he might still be a Republican, of course he would be excoriated as being a RHINO, but after all he did help to found the party so he still might be a member, however reluctantly that membership might be.

He would not be considered a Republican any more than JFK would be considered a Democrat. Bot parties have changed beyond recognition.
