No. But I believe that A LOT of our current problems stem from neo-conservatism.

Um, no. I'll answer to being a liberal, but I'm not a big-D Democrat. If you mean am I a democrat in that I believe in democracy, then yes, I am. Devoutly. If you mean am I a member of the Democratic Party, then no, I am not.

They believe Big Business should be in the middle of it. Big Business who is not accountable to the will or voice of the people. I don't buy that.

Who said anything about socialism? Socialism doesn't work, but it doesn't work for the same reason that laissez-fair capitalism doesn't work: It concentrates wealth and the control of wealth into the hands of select few. In socialism's case, into the hands of the State. In laissez-faire capitalism's case, in to the hands of CEOs, corporations, and shareholders. I don't want either.

Moore is a nutjob. But he's hardly indicative of most liberals, any more than Hannity is indicative of most conservatives.

Check out Wendell Berry.

I infact believe Moore is very indicative of most liberals. . and I also believe that Sean Hannity is indicative of most conservatives. I like Sean and believe he speaks well for conservatives. That said, I believe sometimes he gets a bit too impassioned and I believe he does get worked up sometimes on his show and he could be nicer to some of his guests from the left. But that is what belief and passion does sometimes.

Moore and his following from Hollywood are scary and a lot of naive people who believe that actors and hollywood types political views should be emulated is a scary thought. Half of these movie stars have no education beyond high school and know nothing about politics or current events. Julia Roberts sticks out in my mind as well as Cybil Shepherd. But people see these glamorous movie stars and think they must have the answers... Sheep to the slaughter.

You need to meet more liberals.

You really think Julia Roberts and Cybil Shepherd are indicative of most liberals?

Go read some Wendell Berry. Go read Thom Hartmann. Heck, even check out some Thomas Jefferson. Turn off Sean Hannity for a while.

Well, if truth be told from reading YOUR posts you do not seem like the typical liberal to me. Even though I disagree with you on many issues you seem fair and reasonable. I always say that Alan Combs and Mort Kondrake are the only two democrats on the tube that I can tolerate. But yes, Roberts and Shepherds views are pretty much in line w/most liberals and I would guess MOST posters who are liberal on these boards!

And I knew I would get flack for saying I liked Sean, but thats OK

Thanks! I'll take that as a compliment.

Roberts and Shepherd are indicative of liberals who get the most press, but that's because they're movie stars. But they aren't indicative of most liberals.

It's okay to like Sean. I just hope you aren't getting all your "facts" from Sean. A one-sided opinion isn't much of an opinion. The best way to stay informed is to listen to everyone --- even the occasional nuts.

"Those of you on the lunatic fringe..."

That's pretty close to name calling as far as I can judge it...in most cases, it would be considered, "Them's fightin' words..."

I never said he was extreme. I think he's wrong. The degree or wrongness...well, that's all subjective, isn't it?
