According to your graph, and if I'm understanding it correctly, 9% of funding was dedicated to human embryonic stem cell research...with significant stipulations. I'm failing to see your point.
you clearly aren't understanding it correctly, which explains your failure to see the point. the person i was addressing claimed that federal funding of stem cell research [note the utter and complete lack of the any qualifiers such as 'embryonic' in that sentence] - had been banned.
Sometimes the point of putting up a chart or graph is that, since most people either won't or won't be able to read it, it will look like one is really on top of a particular topic.

This would be relevant if the debate was about anything but human embryonic stem cell research. That is the debate, ya know. I didn't think it needed to be spelled out. Nobody gives a rats behind about stem cell research on rats, adult stem cells, umbilical cord stem cells, etc. Surely, you know this.

You put it up without understanding what the issues are. Your graph is irrelevant to the actual debate. If you need 'human embryonic stem cell research" spelled out for you, than this probably isn't a topic of interest for you.
You liberals actually don't mind science growing sheep with two heads, cloning animals, and messing around with God's creatures? You know it is only a matter of time till you have a two headed clone! Think about it.
Seems you would have to start with one of “Gods Two headed creatures” in order to clone one. I’m sure scientists would be smart enough to leave one of God’s mistakes alone and only clone the best God has provided.

Thank God in one of his first official acts President Obama is going to end the bans on stem cell and other scientific research.

You knew full well what ban on stem cell research was being referred to. You knew quite well both that it existed and that it limited the work that US scientists could conduct. Your entire argument since has been based on this initial dishonesty. Help me understand how you excuse that...

false. kevk was obviously under the impression that a ban on stem cell research was in effect. this, of course, is ridiculously untrue.

It's certainly a ban for our sci/tech agencies that take on the bulk of medical research (uni's, NIH, etc) when allocation of funding is thwarted/banned.
