I just heard that the Postal Services is asking to stop the Sat Mail to save money. I guess they would ask the Goverment? I guess snow, sleet and rain doesn't over jump money

That is too bad - they're in quite a bind.

I didn't rep you because, while I thought is was a good line, it didn't adhere to the original quote. So, to improve upon it, I had to look up the original. The stuff you can learn...

The United States Postal Service has no official creed or motto. Often falsely cited as such, "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" is an inscription on the James Farley Post Office in New York City, derived from a quote from Herodotus' Histories (8.98), referring to the ancient courier service of the Persian Empire:
It is said that as many days as there are in the whole journey, so many are the men and horses that stand along the road, each horse and man at the interval of a day’s journey; and these are stayed neither by snow nor rain nor heat nor darkness from accomplishing their appointed course with all speed. (trans. A.D. Godley 1924)

So, on edit:

"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds. But money, that's a horse of a different color."

Or something to that affect.

Default The Postal Service MAY Cut Delivery Days....duh!

I almost never mail anything now. I pay bills on line and with free long distance, email and texting, who writes a letter anymore? And when I do send something it is usually something too important to trust the USPS with so it goes to Fed Ex, UPS or by registered mail with the USPS. So do I care if they cut to 5 days a week? No! In fact they can cut to 4 if they want!

Maybe they should pass a law against so much junk mail, especially those credit card promo rate scams. They probably pay special rates for bulk mail and all they are doing is loading up the mail handlers with crap...Also, way too much paper being wasted.

If everybody gets the same quality of mail that I do, who'll care if they never show up again?

"Postal Service" has been an oxymoron for the last ten years.

Make mine FedEx, UPS, DHL - anybody but USPS.

[MOD CUT/personal attack] FedEx, UPS, DHL and all cost more then the USPS and deliver to fewer areas. Go ahead and try to get any of them to deliver to a remote part of the country. They won't do it. Only the USPS will do it.

I ALWAYS use USPS and rarely if ever have any problems. I have been using USPS for about 4 years for Business and can recall about 5 problems, while shipping packages every single day.

In my opinion they need to cut back to 3 days a week. Monday - Wednesday - Friday is PLENTY. The loss of money needs to stop. Im always amazed how something can just can continue to run while losing billions. Oh yeah, it's our Government.
