Sorry, God does exists..will save for another thread....Liberals pick apart the Constitution the way they see fit, always have, always will(Especially the 2nd Amendment)....Most liberals I know are pro-Abortion(death), I am against the death penalty....who's asking for perfect service? How about some simple service? Yes, lower taxes and people taking responsibilty for one's self is not asking much. Why do social liberals always seem to support communistic ideals the world over? Michael Moore, Sean Penn, pretty much all of Hollywood? Have you scene or heard of a Libertarian or Conservative speak highly of Venezuela or Cuba? I own a lot of guns. And I'm a liberal leaning woman. I absolutely support the second amendment and so do the liberals I know. Sure, there are people who don't... my grandfather is a staunch Republican who thinks guns shouldn't be owned by the general poplace. Shocking. Both sides 'pick apart' the constitution. Apparently, it's okay to 'pick apart' the constitution as long as it's being done for your own personal benefit. People are weird like that.
As for abortion, I am not 'pro-abortion' but I do think that women should be able to choose for herself. Late term abortion is already illegal (unless it's for the health of the mother, or the fetus has defects) so I don't worry about that. I wish there was never another abortion performed EVER, but that simply isn't the reality of life.
I don't pay attention to Hollywood...or Athletes or anything along those lines for that matter, what they say doesn't affect me in the slightest.
Taking responsibility for ones self? That always cracks me up. Everyone thinks that everyone else should simply 'take care' of themselves. Life doesn't work that way, buddy. It's far more complex than simply 'pulling yourself up by the bootstraps'. I wonder if all the unemployed people should just refuse their checks out of principle, eh? I mean, you're essentially supporting socialism. Same with the elderly and SS. You're taking out far more than you paid into the system.
I receive great service at the government offices I go to. I am very involved with the FAA and they've been nothing but great to me.

Like I said, we can save the God issue for another thread. I know of no Libertarians or Conservatives who do not back the 2nd Am.....I am a respector of rights, as long as your right does not kill someone in the process....Taking care of one's self does work buddy! My family who is of Welch and Mexican descent have ALWAYS taken care of ourselves. Yes, we all pay taxes. At no point, would my grandparents or my parents allow themselves or us to partake of unemployment. I have been laid off in the past, but worked my butt off with 2 and 3 jobs just to make ends meet, till something better came along. See, we immigrants know how to WORK without asking for anything in return. Most of my family has been or currently in law enforcement of one type or the other. All are college graduates, all are US CITIZENS who did not take the EASY route out and swim or otherwise cross the border illegally......So I am guessing nothing that Glenn Beck or Rush has ever pissed you off? Don't pay attention to those two either? Hmmm.... The only thing I read on this fourm is how those two are the second coming of Hitler or the such(sarcasim)....glad you have benefitted from the US government, as I once guarded that same FAA you go to with my life.....

I'm assuming you mean military service... well, my very very liberal boyfriend is joining the USAF, and I would have done the same had it not been for my genetic condition that bars me from joining. My Grandfather on my Dad's side was in WWII as a pilot and was involved for many years with the military. As for law enforcement, my Uncle is a detective for the LAPD and my aunt is a Sheriff also with the LAPD. My sister is going into the Police academy next year.
Oh, and I'm a legal immigrant. Grew up in Germany, moved to the US when I was 11. Good for your family...but not every family is the same. Since you were in the military, I guess you have heard the phrase 'you're only as strong as the weakest link'. It's a good mantra to live by.

My wife is of German desent herself(Munich), and yes I have heard that phrase many times over and I agree 100%! So can we agree to disagree on some things, and move forward in making America a stronger nation for your children and mine?

It would be easier to "NAME IT.." if you weren't so dishonest with your questions. With point one, I honestly have no idea what you're even trying to imply, as I nor any other liberal I know have that as a position. As for your second point, cities tend to have a lot more minorities and lower class people, and those groups tend to vote Democratic. The reason for the troubles in inner-cities is complex, but political ideologies have very little impact. (and if you honestly believe that cities with Democratic local government are ANYTHING like communist Russia, you have a few screws loose)
As for your third point, taxation isn't exactly a key component of liberalism, it's just that liberals realize that taxes are necessary for anything to actually get done. Furthermore, I was unaware of any "over-taxation". Tax-rates right now are low compared to both other western countries and the United States Historically.

That's exactly what I'm striving for. Instead of saying 'liberals are this' and 'conservatives are that' it would be nice if people could intelligently debate and try to figure out what would be beneficial for the future. Not all of it is going to be rosy and fun, fraud will never fully go away (welfare fraud and the like) and there are always going to be the rich and the poor.
I donate time and money to different shelters (both human, and animal ) in the area and they are always hurting for both. I think if people actually got out there, though about more than themselves and got involved the world would be a better place. Of course, I brought this up in a thread a few months ago and immediately had people telling me volunteering was 'communistic' and Obama was forcing people to volunteer like in Nazi Germany.
