American politicians don't have to do much in the way of justifying anything to this country. All they have to do is wave some foreign leader's picture around, tell the public he's the "bad guy", and watch the citizens start to drool over it like Pavlov's dog. America is not a very mentally sophisticated country, aside from its small minority of intellectuals and scientists. The idea that we ought to avoid shedding blood rather than jumping at any opportunity to kill "bad guys" is not an idea that really resonates with the two-legged vermin who comprise most of the American population.

Don't get me wrong I have all respect in the world for your troops, and their self sacrifice, it's the Whitehouse I'm questioning...
Well, I have no respect for the troops. If you invade someone else's country, you deserve whatever they can give you.

By doing nothing, congress would lose its influence thereby reducing its 'power' to do as it pleases. Every action congress takes contributes to its ability to manipulate events and people, economies and countries.

War? Sure, my district can use some government contracts, let's do it.

The logistics of the move is immense, and will take time, but the wheels are already in motion. Of course much will be left in Iraq, including the billion dollar, mini-city US embassy, that we paid for.

The cold hard truth about the problems in Iraq is that WE are the problem. And we can never solve a problem until we first acknowledge what the root cause of the problem is.
3 trillion for both wars over 8 years. 1 trillion over one month. A possible 4 (maybe more) trillion more if absolutely necessary if you listen to people like Krugman. The root cause has already been established a long time ago but you people refuse to read the reports. The root cause to terrorism is hopelessness in short. And please to those all espousing that democracy bs.. how many despotic or repressive regimes has the past adminstrations been guilty of supporting?

Why not just pull the troops out and let Bushy and his cronies take over the security of Iraq. If the mfker gets it there...that will be so much the sweeter

I still can't get over the haunting image of the iraqi boy whose house was accidentally bombed by US missiles killing everyone except him and leaving him limbless.. God have mercy on us all for our deeds

How many people.... Go through history.... For you to be able to talk the way you are now... millions..maybe billions.

There is one thing for sure. You definitely under estimate how powerless the number 2 spot is. You'll understand when you go back through history and can't manage to find a president who wouldn't be considered a war monger by far lefty standards.

Posturing for a world proliferated by nuclear programs is not as easy as it sounds. 24.... not quite.
