Bumps in the Road: Obama's HHS Secretary Nominee Faces Tax Questions Over Car and Driver

Plus you have the other story from last week or 2 weeks ago. Those are just 2 recent examples. And YES it happens on both sides.

So my question is, is the National Sales Tax being frowned upon because it supposedly won't work for our country, or is it being frowned upon for other reasons?

You know, if the government were shrunk down to its constitutional mandates, and nothing more, we would need neither.

The government knows that if we had a National Sales Tax "we the People" could actually hold them accountable...

Boston Tea Party comes to mind

If we gather forces and boycott spending, the government suffers from lack of revenue

Your reasoning is also valid

The National Sales Tax is the only solution to finally capturing the billion dollar underground "civilization" that exists in the United States...

I'm for it.

It eliminates costly waste in the having the irs and businesses having to employ at great cost accountants and lawyers to figure out 57000 pages of tax code.

When the irs doesn't even understand it's own system, you know you have a problem.

If both republicans and democrats were able to come together and set aside the bullsh** of red vs blue and as one voice demand accountability we just may get it! As of now, it is more of an attitude of 'what can you do? They are all cheats'

btw.....not (just ;0)venting here, but do you have any suggestions?

I agree with you in many ways! I find that when you have open minded and informed views even when they are opposing, a mutual understanding is usually the result! Why is it that all that our conservative friends are interested in is smear campaign? I don't hear much fact coming from them! Read threw these threads and look often their resonse is simply socialist, or socialism!

Let's assume a loaf of bread is $1.00 and the tax on that loaf of bread is 5%

Bread is bread, the rich buy the same bread that Joe the Plumber buys.

Joes income for the week is $1,000

Chad the CEO's income is $100,000 a week.

Who ends up paying a greater share of their income in taxes?

Oh, sure we can argue that Chad will buy some boutique bread that may cost 2 or 3 times the bread that Joe buys, but that bread isn't 100 times the cost or 100 times the tax per purchase.

Next question?
