BTW.. Medical Tourism for Americans to other countries is becoming extremely popular . I posted an article from NY Times on this topic on another thread about a UHC or NHC. Because you can get just as good quality health care in other countries for 1/3 of the cost.
I understand that part of Obama's health plan is free airplane shuttles to India or taxi's to Mexico for expensive surgeries.

Can you imagine getting a call from collections demanding that you pay the bill you have yet to receive the service for. What would you do if got a call from a hospital collections demanding payment for the heart attack you might have.
What if in the 5th month of your pregnancy the hospital called and demanded payment for the delivery you're gonna have.

They might well wait 7.3 weeks (a little less than two months) for elective cardiac surgery in the US.
Much depends on the area - here in the Phoenix area, the times are much shorter as we have a significant number of specialists in the area and a number of fine hospitals also

Their attitude is that they have it (health insurance) and it works for them.. so why completely throw out the system. That's only because they THINK the system works. It doesn't. .not even for those fortunate enough to HAVE insurance,
