They didn't expect the arctic to be as cold as it turned out to be. The measured temperature outside their tent was -58F one night and they ran into -100F temperatures at times.
They tried to apply hot water bottles to Arnesen's (a Norwegian) toes, but the bottles kept freezing.
Bancroft and Arnesen were expecting to swim in body suits through areas where they anticipated polar ice to have melted and report melting conditions to school groups by satellite phone and get photographic evidence of global warming...
One of their supporters and their spokeswoman, Atwood, for the expedition that it was ironic that a trip designed to call attention to global warming was cancelled due to the extreme and unexpected cold.

"They were experiencing temperatures that weren't expected with global warming," Atwood said. "But one of the things we see with global warming is unpredictability."

Isn't it funny? If it's too warm, it's global warming. If it's too cold, it's global warming.....
Get your lifeboat NAH, but make sure it has icebreaking capability and bring some equipment that won't freeze with you ... and dress warmly

Try going in the summer, not winter(not for another 50 years at least)
-58 is possible. No way -100 unless they were 10,000 feet up.

I beleive in global warming, some do, some dont.

NAH

With all this global warming and thus rising seas if I were you (and thank you Lord for not letting THAT happen) then I'd be building a large water craft. Forget OilCity. You'll need to be able to re-evaluate your future port of call. Heck, maybe if you really build a BIG one you can bring animals, two by two of course, on board. It's been done before and worked. No reason to think it won't work this time as well.

It doesn't matter how many people believe one way or the other. All that matters are the facts. And geological facts do not prove the theory of global warming. Algore; former politician, Oscar winner, author, and sore loser extraordiare, but one thing he is NOT is a geologist.

Nor is he a climatologist or earth sciences expert. I don't dispute that the planet warms or cools, but I do dispute the claims that humans are responsible for it either way.

I'm not sure who you're saying that to.

Anyways.

Global Warming 101:

The Sun has a ton of violent explosions with huge amount of radiation, and heat spreading into space, and yes even as far as the earth. This radiation weakens the Earth's natural alibility to create clouds (which form as a mixture of things happening on earth and in the outer layers of the atmosphere). When that happens our blue little planet gets warmer, icecaps start melting and drought comes... whoopti-doo... the Sun's been doing that and tempreture's been flactuating like that for years and years and years. Nothing to do with CO2 emmissions.

This whole green propaganda started first with all the terrible droughts in Eastern-Africa in the 80's getting onto the TV. Some treehugging loser thought: "Hey! It's the cars and the planes that poision the planet... it's the CO2 that causes the drought!... yeah, that can't be good, right??... Cars means industrial progress, and I can't live my caveman style living and all the trees will be gone if we don't stop these cars puffing out CO2...etc...etc"... and they started riding it, and griding it to mostly terribly naive university students who believed it as it was preached to them by leftist capitalism haters "as facts") ... now, these students grown up, some got into moderately influential positions, and they found this doctrine to be profitable to them, but they never bothered to sit down and study the real science and the hard facts, and now there is no financial incentive for them to do so either.

It's about time we stop this nonsense... where are all the "Ice age is coming back" naysayers of the 70's when we need them

The more you can scare the public, the more money you can get off of them.

low tide. Sea water rushing out.

If this is the case I would suggest some good flood insurance.
