Four-year-old Samar Abed Rabbu is a little girl with a captivating smile to melt the heart of the most hardened correspondent.

When we first came across her in the hospital in the Egyptian town of El-Arish, just over the border from Gaza, she was playing with an inflated surgical glove beneath the covers.

Those kids should be so lucky to be shot (aka blessed by bullets) by God's chosen people.

When I die, I'm hoping that it'll be Bill Kristol pulling the trigger.

>A tank had parked in front of the house, where around 30 people were taking shelter.<

Let me fix the story to reflect reality.

A tank had parked in front of the house, where around 30 rockets were launched.

There ya go

These people are such liars.

At the end of this propaganda bit... "It may be true that fighters were hiding in the alleys of Jabaliya. It is possible that rockets were being fired from here towards Israel."

Ummmm... Yeah.

I like terms like "allegedly" and the most important word is all of journalism:

"reportedly"

whether or not there were rockets, insurgents, or anything else that you want to extrapolate in those houses, it seems clear, at least from this article, that the kids were shot in the open. do rockets and insurgents make it ok to knowingly shoot children?

when i was in iraq, if i'd have shot into a building that was being used as cover for insurgents, it would have been tragic and sad to have found a dead child in that same building afterward, but it would have been way different than if i had shot at the kids as they came out of the house.

obviously we are judging these deaths based off of a news article, and a biased one at that. but it has been happening on both sides of the war. there is no excuse for the inhumane things that they are doing, and knowingly shooting children is not beyond either of the groups.

Not defending it...but realize the terrorists use kids to carry out attacks or terrorists hide behind them. After seeing a comrade blown up by a kid the terrorists used as a suicide bomber or something, I'd imagine the soldiers get a bit on edge around everyone they encounter...and knowing their own children or families who have been victims of terrorists probably makes them a bit, I don't know, vengeful or something. It's an absolute mess over there and I don't foresee any of this stuff ending anytime soon on either side. Both sides are guilty of many, many crimes.

i agree.

i have been to war, and i know that there have to be allowances in some situations. i prayed that i would never be in the position where i had to harm a child or a woman. but if i needed to, i would have done so.

the terrorists like to use women and children. they don't care for them. they use them as shields and explosives transport, and then make a big ruckus when one of them gets hurt, blaming the other side. but they don't care for them at all. they would slaughter them as fast as their enemy were they in the path of 'righteousness'.

however, i think the israelis are just as guilty. they have been getting away with inhumane acts for so long that the line seems to have become blurred in some peoples' minds.

aaron out.
