What a great idea. Warm weather and exotic food! Can't get those in good ol' America. Great sales pitch. Wish I was onboard , not.

Folks at Harmon Kardon in NY are losing their jobs to India as well. Any company that moves its operations to India or some other third world hole should be boycotted. Ever try calling the customer service for Dell when you have a problem? It's a waste of time.

You know what? Why not? It's better than just throwing people to the wolves. It would do a lot of Americans some good to get out and absorb some culture from other countries. If a person were single, this could be a fun change of pace for a few years. Be a bit more difficult for a family, but whatever.

Why not?

IMHO any company that moves operations or production offshore should pay tariffs high enough to eradicate any savings.

You wouldn't be living in a local slum; you'd be living in either expat housing or an upper-middle-class neighborhood.

I fully agree. And everyone wonders "What's going on????" like it's a big shocker.
