Sigh this is exactly what I'm talking about.

From Wikipedia Climate encompasses the temperatures, humidity, rainfall, atmospheric particle count and numerous other meteorological factors in a given region over long periods of time, as opposed to the term weather, which refers to current activity.

Part of climate is overall extremes, you can't determine overall climate trends from one day of weather or even weeks of weather. One day of cold weather isn't an indication that global warming is occurring just like one hot day doesn't verify it either.

Its "climate change" now GET WITH THE PROGRAM. No matter what happens in the weather ITS YOUR FAULT!

Cold. YOUR FAULT!
Hot. YOUR FAULT!
Thunderstorm. YOUR FAULT!
Flood. YOUR FAULT!

You see, none of these ever happened before mankind started driving Hummers.

One theory which can be supported by the "Little Ice Age" of the 13th century is the triggering of an ice age. Fresh wather from glaciers mixes with the salt water and sinks. The greater amount of fresh water forces the gulf stream south as it did then. The northern areas become cold enought to freeze. The Norse abandoned much of their territory on the fringes when this happened because it was impossible to grow food. Europe suffered famines before the Black death from the disruption of what had been a very successful food supply (and rise in population) and when the Black death came much of the population was badly weakened.

This is one possibility but we know that lots of fresh water is mixing with the salt water. I'd be watching the gulf stream closely.
