(CNN) -- A woman who has been in a vegetative state for nearly 17 years was transferred to a private clinic Tuesday where she is expected to die -- ending what has been a lengthy and controversial legal fight.
Eluana Englaro suffered irreversible brain damage in a car crash in 1992, when she was 20 years old.
Wait, congress and POTUS are NOT coming in on a weekend to fight this?
Oh wait, that was the last government.
Right, that was the administration that has killed 100's of thousands of women and children and also passed a federal law that applied to only one vegetative life form on the planet. But it was all about political posturing wasn't it, and had nothing to do with the person.

Yeah, the administration that wants fetuses saved so they can drop them to Iraq as adults to get slaughtered there.
This is what happens when politicians and religious figure heads get up in your business. I wouldn't want to live in a persistent vegetative state for seventeen years and I hope my parents would have the good sense to let me go after there was obviously no chance of recovery. The prime minister and the pope need to SIT DOWN! They should not be getting up in peoples' personal business and judging what was probably an extremely difficult decision. No parent wants to be the one to decide if their child dies or continues to "live" with no hope of ever waking up. To persecute him for making the decision he thought was best is just disgusting.
I'm not sure why this woman was allowed to live for 17 years in a vegetative state (had to edit, just read the entire article). I'm not even sure why anyone with any compassion would let someone lay there with virtually no brain activity for that long. Good grief, what's the matter with these people... May she finally rest in peace.
