Good thing the liberals defeated the rebellious conservative slavers and then instituted the 13th Ammendment.

One that doesn't run a budget deficit for 85% of it existence. An aggressive sized military but not to the extent of cold war size. Limited intrusion into the personal life. Allowing me to do with my money as I see fit. All these for the most part they already do. Maybe if we could just stagnate congress' spending till the economy can catch up with them @ bare minimum?

Absolutley. "Liberal" in 19th century terms means "Capitalist" (in fact, it is still seen this way in Europe. George Bush is a "Liberal" in the Uk, France, Germany, etc...).

How, exactly, are conservatives "Slavers"? This whole thread is basically accusing us of being Anarchists and now were "Slavers"?

Keep having that ideological meltdown....

At least partialy to keep a huge mass of young people out of the domestic job market. You demobilize that many troops, you have to give them something to do...

[I'm not being contrary here. I've thought this through a little and any way you cut programs (any way you slice it, in other words ), you've got a whole lot of people who suddenly have nothing to do....]
The problem is that having the government support all these people in the military and federal jobs is unsustanable. We have a good deal of taxes already and are still going deeper and deeper in debt. That is what happens when the government tries to control unemployment. It has never worked. Brazil tried it in the 1970s and had a huge financial collapse from all of their debt. I would say it is better to make the cuts and face the music now then face the music when the Chinese repo man comes to collect on us.

If each state is absolutely independent, who then coordinates between the sates? For example when deploying a wireless infrastructure, or highways? Second, as we know, taxes are always bad. Why then pay federal tax at all? Maybe I don't want my taxes go to overseas military adventures?

In these two areas, I strongly support government. It should not be governments job, however, to tell me what to put in my body/how to live my life/what to say/to force charity/equalize incomes/"Betterment of Society" or anything else....that's a moral issue and best left to each individual conscious....

In my world, there is only two branches of government: Military(External) and Judical(Internal). This would ensure maximum freedoms to all members of our society rich/poor/white/black/gay/striaght/etc.....

Article 1 Section 8
The Congress shall have power ... To coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and fix the standard of weights and measures;

Point 1.. yes the federal government can estalish postal roads.. but it doesnt mean most of the funding and our ecomonic issues are because of that.
Point 2. Agree Federal reserve should be abolished.. but making gold and silver tender helps move away from central banking in our government cant just change it overnight.

Absolutely so. That is the meaning of liberalism and I could never understand how in the US it gets to be the opposite.

Another BS peace of propaganda. Everything gets twisted as I mentioned in an earlier post regarding the meaning of "anarchy".

We desperately need to spend money on our National Parks and wilderness areas. We need to heavily regulate the mineral extraction industry in order to force them to clean up after themselves. We need tariffs to negate any profit derived form out sourcing production to foreign countries. We need more space exploration and medical research.

We can cut government involvement in foreign countries by closing most of our foreign bases. It is none of our business if Iran takes over Iraq or if China reclaims Formosa. We can also cut government spy agencies and eliminate the BATF and FEMA for starters.

These are just a couple of ideas for the government bashers to contemplate.

GregW,

You are a socialist by nature we all know this and your continued effort to explain to anyone in this board how bigger government works is almost laughable.
Considering what the government already doesn't do correctly I dont understand how you have a case to support more of this behavior. How much do we spend on government? What does government do right? I would like a list. After all if someone would like the job of doing these tasks I wouldnt choose the government and its not because I dislike government its because I base that on their preformance. I dont care if you move money from here to there or cut this to move the money to some other social injustice or social programs. I will not give up my self reliance to do whatever my government tells me to for the better of society not because I dont want to help others its because giving the power to government is only hurting others. How much must I give government for continued failed policies and programs. Who many poor people will go hungry tonight because of government, will live in crap apartments because of government dependancy. The first rule of the government is to protect the individual and let him make the choices in his/her life and to protect life, liberty nothing more. A common defense for a nation, not the world. PROMOTE not provide general welfare that doesnt mean take on dependancy and have the working support the governments failed programs. America is about independance not dependancy and taking responsiblity for yourself. Taking responsiblity for yourself should be the governments stance on life not others will take responsiblity for you. Which is why we now have government bailouts and nobody takes responsiblity for freddie mae, mac all of which GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS of socialism and liberalism. To think everyone can have a home and some how the american tax payer will pay the bills is complete insanity. Corporations that cheat, lie and steal and run the BUSINESS into the ground for unions and stupid deals they made 30 years ago should live with the result of that action. LET THEM FAIL!! to show you that actions a company takes will be the actions they must live with and the workers who got greedy should feel the pain as well and lose their jobs. Government.. me and you have no responsiblity for GM's car choices and what they spend their money on. If they are broke accept it and move on. For GM to run to the government is also wrong, immoral and completely selfish and unethical. Stop stealing from my paycheck and yours and future generations for your mistakes. AGAIN Responsiblity. Learn it and if we would hold government responsible for their actions we would have a smaller government, a more powerless government with the power being in the individual and the responisblity they comes with it.
Promotion of bigger government is the promotion of slavery, dependancy and goes against the laws of individual freedom.
You can not have free speech, freedom of religion and a free press when a government gets so big it finds its way into those freedoms eating them and destroying them. Corporations are the result of big government not small ones. Corporations are the result of lobbyist in government and benefits for them THRU A BIG GOVERNMENT to be able to make laws, give money and to give them tax breaks. Stop feeding a corrupt monster, because with power they have taken this country down the road of socialism.
Socialism doesnt work, never has... we have moved closer and closer to it destroying our country. These actions you see today in the news are just the example of Bad government and big government with the power to print money, destroy lives and bailout those who bread irresponsiblity.
Who is next, why limit only execs pay lets just look at what government does and realize they dont have the interest of the individual they have the interest of corporations, themselves and to the party and laws that can control peoples lives via taxation and regulation.

Liberty learn it.
